A luxurious ten-person small group tour, where your luggage is always in sight, ensuring it won’t be stolen. Everyone is securely confined to their seats, providing an unparalleled sense of security. The frozen sausages and canned pasta are a nostalgic breakfast classic. The hotel’s facilities will transport you back in time to ten years ago, with the carpet’s odor reminiscent of your bunkmate from those days. The ski equipment rental, prone to billing errors, is a one-way transaction—consider it a small tip for the staff who seem to be enduring a calamity. The hotel’s front desk and lobby offer service full of attitude, with all facilities available strictly for viewing. The bonfire? That would be your fellow travelers’ lighters and the nicotine in the cold night air.

I was disappointed with my stay at Southern Cross Motor Inn and Tourist Park. The cleanliness was subpar, with the room’s carpet emitting a noticeable odor. The breakfast options were extremely limited, offering only frozen sausages, canned pasta, and a small amount of eggs, which was far from satisfactory. The service was also lacking— the front desk was often unattended, and the staff showed little enthusiasm or professionalism. Additionally, advertised amenities like ping pong and karaoke were not provided. To make matters worse, there was a billing error when renting ski equipment, causing unnecessary inconvenience. The facilities themselves are outdated, giving the impression of a hotel that has been neglected for over a decade. Overall, the experience was far from what I expected, and the hotel needs significant improvements in multiple areas.

During the last long weekend, our group of about 100 went on a skiing trip at Perisher. We spent 2 nights at the Motor Inn. It's great that the cabins were clean and warm, beddings comfortable and staff were friendly. The meat and veggies provided for the hotpot dinner on the second night made everyone full and happy. Karaoke in the lounge room after dinner that night added to the joy. I really enjoyed the stay.

We found the Southern Cross to be very clean with spotless bed linen. We had a room that was ideal for five of us travelling to the snow. The room heater worked and the kitchenette was well equipped. Special thanks to Burton who was very helpful and accommodating of our needs. This is an ageing building so don’t expect the Sheraton on the Park however it gave us everything we needed, was comfortable, clean and very welcoming. We will definitely stay here again on our way to the snow.

This year, Sydney's COVID hard lockdown make it so difficult for everyone. People with young family like me got our ski trip(s) cancelled, wasting valuable time, efforts and money planned for the trip. I'm sure that the business owner of Southern Cross Motor Inn also suffered a lot due to loss of bookings and no-cost cancellations. However despite this difficult times, this motel is willing to offer cancellations at not cost for clients like me. This is so heart warming and comforting. Although I've never had a chance to stay with this motel, but the friendly way that they handle their bookings and being so helpful for their customers would definitely make me come back next season and stay in this motel. Let's look forward to season 2022.
