Foxfire Campground

Smaller park but has some very nice sites. Upper sites are by permanent people (some) full hook ups and the lower sites are in wooded areas on a small lake. Very nice views. I would of given a 5 star but the site #53 is nice but has big dips from sinking ground where tree roots are at. I would bring in sand to fill in the area a bit because it is a trip hazard. Also the hook up electric has no breaker to shut off power. I am surprised this in not a requirement. You have to connect it live. After that the water is very close to the ground also. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The site we had was level and the electric, water and sewer worked great. It is located off route 51 just north of Minocqua. There are lots of things to do in the area

We love Foxfire Campground! Plenty of space in the sites for a camper. We have a very large tent and use an easy up over the picnic table and have plenty of extra room for parking our SUV. Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table. If you get a site down by the lake you will definitely not be disappointed with the view. It is one of the prettiest Lakes I've ever seen and it's a small lake so it's not busy and very peaceful. They have rowboats and paddle boards and kayaks for rent if you do not have your own and they have separate piers for fishing and swimming. The swimming area is very sandy and the sand goes far out and it's a lot of fun!

We stayed at a Lakeside site (98) and were so disappointed. The boat rental and boat storage for the seasonal folks were directly in front of our site. Saying this site has a lake view is a massive stretch. We had people walking in our campsite all weekend to get their boats. People were also walking through our site to get to the lake. For a north woods campground, you get absolutely no privacy. We also went into the office at check out on Sunday and the staff were gone. Someone rented the cabin and had no clue where to return the keys. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

We stayed at the cabin- which seemed newly built and was perfect. could easily fit more than 4 people in there if you brought more air mattresses with. The swimming area and playground was disappointing. Theres 1 shower stall- which is very nice once inside, but the coin operation is outside of the stall, so if you run out of time you have to get dressed to put more money back in. There also is only a curtain, not a door, so it was pretty uncomfortable to shower/get dressed in there. Otherwise a very quiet campground- there was a TON of people there and we didn't hear anyone else. Would definitely come back to use the cabin.
