True Bush camping experience. Has everything you need for a lovely break away in the woodlands. Its not luxury but its simple and charming. From the Eco pool, the bush walks the creek (When there is water) not to mention the kids activities- High ropes course, Giant Swing, Archery, playground, bird feeding. It's very family friendly, allows dogs and perfect for a family break on a low budget. We've been three times so far and will be back. Yes it can be a little noisy as there's lots of people in close proximity, the trains do go past at night but we've always had a restful night with no issues. We've always enjoyed our stay.
Nice property overall. The creek was dry during our stay. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead. The grounds were very dry and dusty, and we found there were no flat, level sites suitable for parking our caravan comfortably. Campfires are permitted, which was a positive. My husband and I stayed for one week on a powered site and paid $470. It was quite hot, and there were several power outages due to high power usage. On one occasion, a park member appeared at our camp site and was a little cross that campers were running their air conditioning. There is no dump point available and no option to leave rubbish on site, which is something to be aware of before booking.
We took our camper out to Murphy creek escape and had a wonderful time even though it rained most of the time. Great little swimming creek to refresh on hot days and each camp site has its own fire pit. Amenities were spotless and for a small fee of 20 cents for a two minute shower was really good. Water is HOT. Reception were really nice and lovely to chat with thanks Alberta. I’d definitely stay there again. Top place if you require peace and quiet!
Amazing place! Been 2 times, and will definitely come again. A good blend of being away from all the noise, but not too far from toowoomba. The lady at reception is always amazing. Saw other comments complaining about noise. Im a light sleeper and never noticed the trains at night. I think you might only get 1 or 2 during harvesting season- even then the track is quite far away behind bush land. Bathrooms are good quality for a camping ground, and clean. Plenty of them so you aren't waiting. Never fully used them asides cleaning dishes, but it has a decent undercover cooking area with water.
This is a wonderful place to camp! The location is excellent — just a 30-minute drive to groceries and restaurants. The rope course and archery activities are fantastic, and the kids absolutely loved them. It’s also conveniently close to Toowoomba city and several beautiful hiking tracks. The only downside is that one of the bathrooms has just two hooks for hanging bath items, and the coin receiver box is quite old, rusty, and the slot is hard to find. Hint: 40 cents are normally enough for one time bath.
