Took a trip up north to see some waterfalls, and stopped in here to take in the views. We didn't really hang around here too long, as we had quite a few other stops, but it was well worth visiting. There are some phenomenal views here, very picturesque. The park is pretty big. There are a lot of beautiful boats docked here. Great views of the shoreline. There is a gazebo here that would make for an incredibly beautiful picnic. There are two bars in the immediate area. Didn't have any issues with biting insects, but there are clouds of gnats here that could block out the sun, lol. Coming in was fine, leaving was a bit harrowing. The exit is a VERY steep gravel road that immediately drops off on both sides a long, long way down. You also have to keep a lookout for grouse running in front of your vehicle, they seem a bit suicidal here. The gravel road goes on for about 5 miles, so if you go this way, be prepared for that.

Posting my review a bit late, we visited here back on September 12, 2024. This was my first time seeing Lake Superior and our friends who live in Wisconsin told us to stop here, and I'm happy we did! My phone pictures do no justice to how beautiful this little harbor is! We were able to park and walk out onto the shore and decided to have a picnic and take in the scenic view! If you're looking for a quiet little place to stop, I recommend stopping here! We had our picnic out on the shoreline near some dead wood trees, but there's also an actual covered picnic pavilion with a few tables too. The size of this lake is astounding and you really feel it when you're looking out from the shoreline! The rocks are so smooth, it was amazing! Too bad we didn't bring a black light/UV light with us, apparently you can use that to find some pretty cool rocks that glow only under that light! Overall, I'm happy we stopped here and recommend it if you're looking for a quiet place to take in the surroundings!

Clean park the helper was so nice. Someone did a walk in on our reserved site for Labor Day weekend he went above and beyond. We were able to see the Northern Lights. Bathrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen. The showers are pay showers so I didn’t use them. Nice little bar grill across the street with the nicest elderly couple running it. I would definitely stay here again we were able to see 4 different Falls in the area in one day

Great park and area to check out Lake Superior. We camped in the upper grounds, which was nice but the flies and bees were a bit much in August. The area had been flooded, so everything is redone. The campground/RV is very open with minimal shade and the ground is packed, making staking difficult. The views were beautiful, though, and the staff in the office were very nice. Bathrooms are very clean. Bring quarters to use the showers! (A quarter a minute and you need at least 4 to start it.) The walk in tent site area is so pretty and quiet. Lots of wildlife in the surrounding hills. We were in site 10, which probably has the most privacy. Deer came down each night to eat. Lots of areas to explore nearby, including waterfalls and hiking.
