The site was okay for a quick stop, but we wouldn't have stayed any longer: it's literally right next to the active railway line, the pitches are very small, and it's difficult to park a long caravan unless it's a fifth wheel. The reception staff were rather cold, just businesslike. Perhaps because they were closing in the coming days? In short, a convenient stop, but nothing special.
The train passes every hour with a super loud horn! I couldn’t sleep that night and had to hit the road the next day exhausted. They should mention something like this in the reservation details.
One night at a campground on the shores of Lake Matapedia. Quite peaceful, except when the train goes by! The campground is right next to the railway tracks... The train passes at around 1 a.m. and 6 a.m.... A little scary! The toilets and showers were adequate and free. But waking up to a superb view of the lake.
Good view on the lake
No signs in English, everything in french, person who answered the phone even said they didn’t speak english only french! should have both languages signposted. Also very noisy as next to train line which blast their horns as they go through.
