Genoa Campground

Great little ex-caravan park near the highway. No shower amenities but there are toilets, a BBQ area and lots of tables and benches around. Near to an old township that now resembles a ghost town. There is a pub but it wasn’t open during our stay. *It’s a donation park so don’t forget to leave a donation. It helps to keep places like these alive. No need for alarms as the Roosters ensure you’re awake by 0530

What a great little place to free cam ... with a donation which isn't unreasonable. Flat, level, grassed with toilets, rubbish bins, a BBQ area and even a clothesline and kids playground area. It would be great if visitors would respect it more. Getting woken by a rogue rooster sitting on our steps at 5 am in the morning crowing his heart out was a great funny moment. Thank you to whoever looks after this area. It was very appreciated after a long drive.

We enjoyed our overnight stop. Great place to rest and explore. Set back from highway so not too much road noise. Plenty of level parking spaces , fires allowed. Toilets were OK. If you are able there are donation boxes available which help keep this great little place welcoming. Roosters are funny and woke us up quite early !!

A nice grassy place to free camp. The toilets weren't very clean but that was more about people being gross. Other than,I would recommend it. There was plenty of birdlife including some free range roosters that enjoying crowing whenever they felt like it.

Great Free (donation) camp spot. 👍Lush green grass. 👍 Picnic tables. 👍 Fire drums. 👍 Large washing up sink for dishes. 👍 Under cover picnic area with BBQ. 👍 Playground. 👍 1/4 court basketball ring 👍Tennis court-(pay via direct bank transfer) - Toilets 👎 Unfortunately no showers as they have been capped off. 👍 However, we had a fresh water wash in the gorgeous river which was perfect. Clear running river with soft rocks/sand. 👍 Wildlife - lizards, wombats, bats (not so fun when they fly into your campervan) kookaburras, and many other beautiful birds. 👎 Running water not suitable for drinking. 👍&👎 Lovely free-range chook's and roosters. Lovely to see, but not so lovely when the roosters are awake at 3.30am!
