The Chinquapin Hill Campground at Caledonia State Park has approximately 130 sites, half of which have electricity and about half of those are also full hook-up. There's a section of campsites built into the hill. No pets are allowed in this campground. Another campground at Caledonia is pet friendly. This area has two restroom-shower facilities, firewood sales, a sanitary dump station and an amphitheater. For more information see my you tube video at: thePAparksman
One of the finest campgrounds in the PA State Park system. Always well maintained facilities, large sites with paved pads. Fantastic place to camp and enjoy everything the Gettysburg area has to offer
A very good campground with clean and new bath house. As mentioned in other reviews , some of the sites are inclined site be sure to check before you book . Picnic area in the campground is nice place to spend your time. Swimming pool is available for public with small payment. Water streams are amazing to watch , friendly staffs , stores are in reachable distance ~2 miles. Convenient spots for many family campers.
A nice campground with newer and clean bathhouses. Some of the sites are short and others have severe inclines so check the photos before booking your site. Unlike most campgrounds, the host does not check the sites between campers. Our campsite, as well as our neighbors, had trash in it especially in the fire rings. The campground is close to Gettysburg and Chambersburg. There is a lot of hiking with access to the Appalachian Trail, a pay to use pool, and picnic areas. There is also a reservoir about nine minutes north where you can paddle or use electric motor boats.
My wife and I camped in our travel trailer 2 nights in September. On the postive side, the sites are relatively spacious, we were able to reserve a site with full hookups, and the campground has been recently refurbished with new, excellent paving and totally redone bathrooms/shower houses. The bathrooms were shiny and clean, probably the best campground bathrooms ever. The state park area also has some nice trails. On the less positive side, we were surprised at the background traffic noise from the nearby US 30 - it was noticeable and detracting. I also felt some of the sites were not as level as one would hope, so effort to level your camper is required.
