We stay one night on our way back north in February. The rate was good for a full hook up site. Easy check in with the friendly staff. Rest rooms were individual rooms with full size showers. They were very nice and clean. It looked like they would be a lot to do here in the summer.they have a pool, play area and a bowling center. We will keep this campground on our map.
Great location close to I-81. Seems like a very nice campground. Our site was very long so we did not have to unhitch our trailer for the one night we were there, which saved us time to get on the road again the next morning. The restrooms and showers are the best we've seen - each one is a small bathroom with toilet large sink and large shower. They looked brand new and super clean. The laundry room also looks brand new. Highly recommended!
This place was great! we got in late and had a great pull through spot. Nice big playground, arcade, bowling alley. My son loved their gem mining! I bet this is even more fun in the summer haha! But it was the perfect kid friendly spot to stop on the way home from Florida.
We have stayed here a couple of times for one night stays. It’s easily accessible and the interior roads are good. Site 23 was level and long enough so we didn’t unhook. 26 was shorter and not as level. The facilities are clean. In warmer weather they have a cafe. A friend stayed in a cabin which was very nice.
I stayed at site 42, a "Deluxe" full hookup. It had a paved driveway, concrete patio, fire ring, 2x poly wood lounge chairs, and a nice round metal picnic table. The site was nice. Though, if I stay there again I would get a different deluxe site if possible. I think Site 42 has the worst vantage point. However, that is being picky. It's not bad, the others are just better. The staff was extremely polite and pleasant. That goes a long way for me. The grounds were nice and well kept. I went in October (the offseason?) and the campground was tame (didn't seem like a party place or golf cart races). I'm not sure if it's that way or not during the summer. I haven't stayed at a KOA since I was a teenager and this was the first after getting my own RV a year ago. Based upon this experience, I will look to stay at other KOAs as well. We camped at Wytheville KOA Holiday in a Travel Trailer.
