Sandwich Fairgrounds RV Campground

Attention this is not a legal campground. This is only a fairground, and it is operated by a group of people on a board who don’t know anything about campers or legally running a campground who put a groundskeeper in charge who doesn’t know anything about camping or campers nor wants the responsibility who then put a elderly German woman who is here on a temporary visa in charge who also doesn’t know anything about camping or campgrounds? There is no Internet. There is no sewage. There is only water and electric and the woman who is running. It is very very rude and lives on the grounds rent free so the groundskeeper doesn’t have to do any of that work I have been coming to this park for seven years dropping thousands of dollars a year and up until last year when they put her in charge, it all went downhill which most campsites usually do when that situation happens. When I explained this insane situation to one of the board members and how I’ve been treated by the groundskeeper and this so-called manager, after all this time he said, and I quote” The board doesn’t care if people are upset or not of how they’re being treated as long as they get paid they’re more worried about the money than customers being happy” I’m Almost positive that Illinois state doesn’t know that they are having Camper staying there even during the winter season illegally which they’re not certified to do and if you stay there during the winter you only have electric my advice is to go to Sycamore RV Fox Bluff, high tide or any of the other seven locations around the area if you’re looking for a campsite with the proper amenities and ran by responsible adults, I wish I wouldn’t have to write this review, but after the insane things I had to go through last year I realize now that this place is going to be a dead end. Good luck for the search and anywhere would be better than here, and if Illinois state law is reading this, I advise you to look into the legal matters of what they’re doing at Sandwich fair there’s a lot more going on than you think.

Fair or not this is one of my favorite campgrounds. It starts with Susanne who is so helpful and responsive. Next for my dog there is a huge area to get her husky puppy energy out. The setting is Americana at its best!

This place is a basic campground. It does have electric and water at the sights. There is a dump station on property. It is quiet and a pretty place to see the sunrise.

What a great place to park the RV for a few nights! Cheap for 50 amp electric and water with a dump station. The trains are a little ways out but can be heard during the night!
