The only reason I gave our site a 4 was because it was super windy while we were there, not peak season. The view was beautiful but I think I would have traded it for a more protected site. Our dogs were a little freaked out. All that said, everything else was top notched. Bathrooms were super clean, laundry room was the same. I liked the fact you could sit on their deck while doing laundry. Staff was around checking on things and always asked if we were having a good stay.

We hooked up our fifth wheel with 30 amp service. The breaker at the box was broken/dangling so we had to use an adapter with 20 amp service. I notified the person in charge who offered to move us to another site or else have their electrician fix the problem the following day. We opted for next day service. We weren’t given a time for the service, so we went out for an early breakfast the next morning. The electrician came while we were gone which was no problem, except that we discovered upon returning that the problem was not fixed. The 30 amp breaker had been changed; however, it provided no power to the RV. The problem was not with the RV because we had power with the 20 amp. The camper had been all set up, and we really didn’t want to have to break it all down and move to another site. I reported to the office staff that the problem had not been resolved, believing that they might reach back out to the electrician. They refused and insisted that the problem had been fix, and that was that unless we wanted to move to another site. This place is a one and done for us!

I have stayed here a few times in the past couple of years, and each time it seems to go a little further downhill. In August of 25, I stayed there for 4 nights in the tenting section. The first evening I was woken up at 11:30 PM when the campers next to us rolled in with their headlights shining into my tent. They then went to clanging tent poles and blowing up air mattresses with a high pitched blower until around 12:30 AM, setting up their site with their headlights for a guide. So much for enforced quiet hours. My son was also awoken by this as it took place 15' from our tent. I let it go and didn't complain. The entire 4 day stay involved disgusting bathrooms that were never cleaned. I used the same stall each time and the same wad of toilet paper was on the back of the toilet for 3 of the 4 days. Showers were cold and overall the bathrooms were just gross...at all times. The last night of our stay I woke up to crunching around my tent at 4 am. I assumed it might be a racoon or an animal, but upon peering out through my unzipped tent I realized it was a person from the campsite beside us. They were under the influence of something and were staggering around and crashed into the clothesline and towels we had hanging on it near our picnic table. I hollers out of the tent and ask them to leave the site. They indicated they were trying to find their campsite. Once again my son was woken up by this disturbance. Not knowing fully what they were under the influence of or what they were up to I stood guard from 4 am until everyone else in the family was up for the day. We promptly packed up and got out of there. On our way out I planned on talking to the office about it so they were aware of the nuisance, but they did not open until 10 am. I did receive a survey via email and text from Thousand Trails. I filled it out and asked that someone from the management contact me so I could discuss in detail the issues I had while there. The did respond via text that management would contact me. It is now September, 5 weeks since I was there, and I am still holding my breath for that call. The campground has a lot of potential, but when I stayed it was dirty, there was no one to enforce rules and it was not a great experience.

Stay here every year. We love the campground! The pool and hot tub are great. Much more busy this year than the last few years. New bathroom/shower housea we're pretty filthy Sunday morning. That's really my only complaint. Super close to all the stores, and beaches. (You need to be up and out early to get there without traffic). Upsetting this year the shuttle to and from the beach provided by the campground for a small fee was not up and running. This was very sad. Wells trolley is also no longer up and running. Over all Maine is always the place to be.

We stayed at this campground for 3 days. It was pretty cheap, which was a plus, and it was mostly quiet and peaceful—except at 7 AM every single morning when the garbage truck rolled through. It was extremely loud and completely ruined our sleep every day. Definitely not the kind of wake-up call you want while camping. The bathrooms were the worst part. They hadn’t been cleaned in days—dirty floors, overflowing garbage, and a noticeable bug infestation. Each time I went back, (which was often as I was tent camping), I knew it hadn’t even been checked up on. It felt really unhygienic and uncomfortable to use. If you’re just looking for a low-cost place to stay and don’t mind rough conditions, this might do. But if cleanliness and quiet mornings matter to you, I’d look elsewhere.
