Charlie Brown Campground

Great campground. The river was awesome. However, there was a group of people that came and set all their stuff up on the beach outside our camper.. they also had river front sites so it was just weird and very awkward. They blocked our access and didn’t seem to care. Also had multiple people walk the river and cut through our sites with dogs. Not proper campground etiquette and was just overall rude and inconsiderate. Not the campgrounds fault by any means, but are people that clueless these days?

Great family friendly campground. Plenty of activities for all ages. Sites along the water are great. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to.

we stayed at the Charlie Brown campground on our way to Lake Compounce amusement park. I had foolishly forgotten to book a campsite at the amusement park, so I was frantically calling campgrounds on the way there Charlie Brown campground happen to be the first one, and even though it was only a few hours, before arrival, and we would arrive after close. The owner was very accommodating and open the gate for us after hours because we were only camping in our car. The facilities were very clean and peaceful and the river is a great spot to swim. It’s a nice spot if you’re just looking to have somewhere to spend the night. very kind owner highly recommend.

We enjoy going to this campground very much, it's quiet but they do have activities like a wagon ride, bingo and a Saturday night band. We normally come for Memorial day but came for a random weekend as well this year. Memorial day weekend they have a duck race that's always a lot of fun.

I cannot say enough positive things about this campground. My family and I stayed here for two months while I was in Hartford for work, I we will surely be back the next time I am in CT. The staff are amazingly kind and responsive to any and every need. We stayed in one of the rental cabins and the only issue we had was the water not heating up one day. We immediately had 2 members of staff on site and the problem was fixed in 10 minutes. The cabins are kept in pristine condition. Seriously, their cleaning staff are insane level cleaners. The cabins look and smell like they are brand new. My family has severe allergies and not once did anyone have an issue while staying here. The common use facilities are just as well kept. The laundry, public restrooms and playground are impeccable. Small and quiet, its a perfectly relaxing setting. I have been staying in campgrounds my entire life and I can’t recommend this place enough.
