Meridian East / Toomsuba Koa Journey

Lovely KOA Journey right off the highway! We were warmly welcomed and placed in a beautiful spot; the grounds were impeccable and beautifully landscaped and hardscaped. We felt very safe and comfortable and had easy access to all the amenities and local flair. We will plan to stay here again!

If you’re traveling through Mississippi and need a place to park your rig, Meridian East / Toomsuba KOA Journey absolutely delivers. We stayed in an RV spot and were genuinely impressed from the moment we pulled in. The sites were level, spacious, and easy to navigate — which makes a huge difference after a long day on the road. Hookups were in great condition, everything worked perfectly, and the gravel pad felt fresh and well-maintained. You can tell this campground has been updated recently because everything feels new, orderly, and thoughtfully laid out. What really stood out was how incredibly clean the entire property was. The grounds were spotless, landscaping was neat, and the facilities looked brand new. Restrooms and common areas were sparkling — not just “campground clean,” but truly clean. That level of care says a lot about management and staff. And if you’re traveling with pets, this KOA is a fantastic choice. They are genuinely pet friendly — not just “pets allowed.” There’s plenty of space to walk your dog, designated pet areas, and convenient waste stations throughout the property. It felt welcoming for both us and our four-legged companion, which made the stay even more relaxing. The overall atmosphere was quiet, safe, and well cared for. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the entire experience felt easy and stress-free — exactly what you want from a stop on your RV journey. If you value cleanliness, updated facilities, and a campground that truly welcomes pets, this KOA is a standout. We would absolutely stay here again.

We’ve stayed at this KOA many times, the last time being in March 2025 before the new owners took over. What a difference a few months make. They have done so many improvements to the campground and are planning many more. The grounds and the pool have been cleaned up and renovated. The shower houses have gotten a very nice update. This KOA is also nice and quiet because it’s far enough off the interstate but not too far. Take a moment to read their blog about all the improvements they’ve done since taking over. Don’t forget to say hi to Mz Hazel, their furry little greeter. We like to stay at KOA‘s whenever possible and this is definitely in the top ten of our favorite ones.

Writing this review even before check-out because I can’t imagine anything that could take a star away. Super clean office/store and the new owner is delightful and super helpful! Signage to get to the location from the highway was SPOT ON! Wonderful ambiance lighting throughout the park that allows for ease of late night check-in but not disruptive to settled guests. Really enjoying the tranquillity of the location despite being less than 2mi off the exit! Absolutely recommend this facility and staff. Say “Hi!” to the greeting party, Charlie and Hazel (the best dogs) for me when you visit!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Stay at Meridian KOA We truly enjoyed our time at the Meridian KOA. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. The campground is clean, peaceful, and beautifully kept, with plenty of space and shade to relax after a long day of travel. The staff were so kind and helpful, always making sure we had what we needed. The little touches around the grounds, like the planters and inviting seating areas, made it feel cozy and cared for. The pool area was bright and cheerful, perfect for winding down on a sunny afternoon. This KOA felt more like a community than just a stop along the road, and it left us with such a positive impression. We’re grateful for the hospitality and will happily stay here again the next time we’re passing through.
