Not so much. I suppose if you want to live in your RV in Austin then this is a good choice but I was disappointed. It is very cramped and not that well maintained overall. The restrooms are fine. The WIFI was terrible. I'm just not a city person and I don't like being in cramped spaces surrounded by heavy traffic. Like I said, if you want to be in Austin and live in your RV, this is probably ideal for you but it wasn't for us.
The owner is a heartless jerk. There is no late registration and no late arrival. If you show up after 5pm no one will help you register. Someone that stays in the park told me if I park in the parking lot outside that the groundskeeper will help me in the morning. I woke at 7:30am to a rude man shouting at me and accusing me of theft and calling me names and threatening to call the police. I told him I arrived late and wanted to reserve a spot for the following evening and settle up for any cost for the previous night and he told me I was not welcome at the park and demanded full price ($80) and threatened to call the police. I asked him if I could at least take a shower and bathe my children since we have been on the road for several days and are paying full price. And he called me a freeloader even though I was intending to stay for several days. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at an RV park in the country. We have a very small Toyota motorhome and tried to park out of the way. For him to scream at me like that in front of my children for the crime of trying to patronize his business, something bad must have happened to him to become so heartless
This fantastic RV campground is mostly full-timers, and there are a lot of full timers. The lady at the desk, Sherry, said that it takes about a year on the waiting list to get a spot. We happen to get one that will be filled in a few nights, but will be able to stay here until then. Overall, it’s a really nice spot to park for a night or two. And probably if you’re going to stay long-term, it’s a good place as well. It’s essentially located to a number of different restaurants and shops. I would recommend it if you get a chance to stay short, or long-term. As the name indicates there are many pecan trees here. I mentioned Sherry, at the desk. She’s one of the managers. Just a wonderful person who sincerely cares about the people that are here. Summary, it’s a wonderful place with very well taken care of campsites. I highly recommend it to anybody.
Amazing place and location. If you’re looking for “rving” this isn’t the place. But if you’re looking for friendly people in the middle of Austin, this is the place. Myself and the family have been here two days and it’s amazing. This is totally a place I’d come back to. You have to make your reservations over the phone, but who cares if you have to talk to a real person and it’s not online. Enjoy it like we did.
Excellent place to stay . Mark, the manager was terrific and made us feel welcome and helped us with any minor issue we had. The location is the main draw and the proximity to downtown is amazing.
