A year ago spotted this campground as we were filling up with gas across the river. Looked cute so booked a tent campsite a few weeks ago and was placed a ways away from the rest of the campground on site #22. Instinctively, we knew this wasn't our idea of tent camping. It was a field with a rickety bonfire pit and a picnic table that we would not trust anyone to sit at or even touch. It was only for one night so we'll make it work. Couldn't sleep because of all the traffic noise but somehow managed to get a few winks in before waking at 6:00 a.m. to ANTS all over the inside of our tent! They covered the entire inside of our tent and watched a stream of ants marching up and down the walls. We hope that this doesn't happen to anyone else. We wish people would be honest in their post because it could have saved us this unfortunate event.
Love going camping with the family here! Always have great times and great memories! Clean park, we love the river to float on, and we all love being out doors...even the dogs enjoy it. Would definitely recommend!!
We all seemed to enjoy ourselves, almost perfect weather too. The kids (big and little) played in the river. We saw geese, caught fish🐟 (sheepshead) and the occasional wild monkey 🐒would swing through. We took a ride way out to the nearby breakwater and to city park where the grandsons played in lake Michigan. Note for next time - bring a rake and make sure we have a spot with shade. Also we had gnats and skeeters by our site on the river. Part of our group was in the shade in the tenting area and no bugs.
Very friendly, quiet, pretty RV campground. Got to pick our own spot during the week. Park pics won't post now. Lots of amenities within the park and nearby Interstate Park (literally minutes away) has world famous GLACIER HOLES!
We stayed in this beautiful park. We arrived after the office was closed and was easily able to register, and use a pull through site. The park was quiet all night, even though there were quite a few campers. The next morning the office staff was very pleasant and helpful.
