Don’t let the negative reviews scare you!!!! This campground is under a new ownership at the end of the 2022 season. I am new to the campground and I can assure you that the new owners are awesome and have exceeded my family expectations. They are very helpful and are truly making this a family oriented campground. They have several events planned for the 2023 season along with children activities. We have arrived here with a camping group of 6 families all with several children. 12 adults and 16 Children!!!
I only gave 1 star because I couldn’t post a review as a ZERO! I wouldn’t waste the money at this place. There were rules for everything from types of signs you could hang, when you can walk around the park or drive carts. Nothing to to do there. Everything was an extra charge. The female owner was horrible with people and always rude. She was condescending, always argued and talked to people like they were stupid. The owners were going through a divorce, didn’t get along or speak to each other. None of our questions could be answered by the office. We kept being told to call maintenance man, who told us to talk to the office. Nothing but a run around. Our light covers we’re stolen off our camper. The electric was being used when we weren’t there, which we had to pay for (not included with site). And that’s just a few of the issues. People all around us were pulling out their campers. We paid for a full year and had to leave early our 2nd season due to a death. And the office (rude lady) threatened us for payment. I explained our situation and was told they would pro rate for us, but needed payment to retain our spot, then she refused to refund our pro rated amount unless they rented our lot, which surprise, never happened, despite us talking to a neighbor whose friend wanted the spot. We lost a lot of $ here at a horrible time for our family. Absolutely awful!
Stayed here for the week of July 4th. Beautiful property and grounds, definitely needs someone to help with amenities. You can only swim at their beach spot on the weekends, if there is an attendant there, if you stay during the week they close everything so you have to find something to do. The country store…..is not a country store. There’s no camping supplies you would think would be inside the store, you are not allowed to walk through the front door, you have to go through the side entrance and walk through the maze of weird yard sale items like old dolls and clocks and other weird items. Definitely has lots of potential but just wasn’t the funnest for the family due to not having much to do through the week.
Very nice and remote. Plenty of spots to choose with privacy. Very relaxing and enjoyable place to camp.
I understand that they have signs posted about no cell phone usage around or near the office, but the owner was extremely rude to my wife and I. There's no reason to be rude to your customers especially when it's an honest mistake. Her alone, is why I will never return. The roads to the site were really muddy and they haven't laid new gravel outside of the office area. The lake is beautiful but there's seasonal campers all around blocking view and access.
