I booked site 20B in the B loop while traveling through the area. Nice size campsite for my campervan. The site has a table covered by a shelter. Bathhouse was very clean! There was a nice, little playground near the bathhouse. I did arrive after dark and left before total daylight, but my impressions are that it felt safe, quiet, and clean.
Feels like a bit of a hidden gem! It’s only about 10 miles off the interstate. Easy access to the sites and online booking and reservation. Restrooms with showers and freshwater access. Nice little trail to walk down by the water. I saw my first tarantula!
This is a large park with plenty of room between sites. The site I reserved had both water and 30 amp hookups available. There is also an RV dump station area, but I didn't use it. There are multiple trails in the park that are fairly well maintained. Unfortunately, the water level for the lake was so low that one of the trails to access it only led to a dry site.
Beautiful place. If you are tent camping and you want to be close to the bathroom, reserve a spot located near B26. Also, request a covered picnic table (in case it rains). Lots of stickers and ants so be observant of your dogs feet if you are bringing them. Great area to go fishing or boating. Really enjoyed our experience.
What a great view! Quiet site. Lovely wildflowers. Clean bathrooms. We really appreciated the shade offered by the concrete shelter that most sites in the Rocky campground loops A and B had. No beach that we could find; just a boat launch. This was a fabulous place to stay after checking out the nearby Blue Hole.
