Group site was pricier and not as nice as many we have stayed at. Park ranger was young and on a power trip. Entered our site multiple times the first couple days and looked inside our vehicles with a light every time, when he claimed to be checking park passes that he had already checked. He also watched our site from the hill and would drive down to tell us to leash our dogs every time we let them off to use the washroom. We have aging dogs that are very well trained and were causing no issues, not to mention there are no other sites near us. It was strange and felt like an invasion of privacy to have someone posted up watching us majority of the time. Park enforcement ended up coming to ticket us for the ranger, but rather than ticketing us he was disgusted with the rangers behaviour and warned him to stay out of our site and leave us alone the rest of the weekend. We are mature adults, with children and the harassment was unwarranted. We rent group sites 2-3 times a summer at different places around SK. This is the first place that we will not go back to. Park was very dead. Maybe the behaviour of their staff is why.
A lot of sites are on the smaller side but there are some nice large, flat sites facing the lake. Washroom/shower house and flush outhouses were immaculate. Shower are free.
Our double campsite was a bit barren. One thing to be carefull about both of our power pedestals showed that they had harbored good sized wasps nest s. Always give the pedestal a tap and retreat to see if nasties are present. I have seen this elsewhere and not a great way to start your stay. Toilets are great with RV style fixtures and running water. On hot days the horse flys were out in force while we were there and swarmed any running vehicle. Also there are a lot of bears we saw two blacks and a brown the first day all within the campsite boundary area.
The campground is missing a lot of trees still from the tornado but is being rebuilt with flush toilets. Attended a concert on the beach and day full of events. Smokey from the fires. Great saskatoon berry picking.
Great camp grounds. Decent sized sites suitable for tents to large motor homes. Showers are clean and wheelchair accessable. The lake is beautiful with a number of sites overlooking it. There's a small store on site that sells some cooked food and ice cream. Great place to spend a weekend. Would recommend
