There are plenty of campsites available. You can only BBQ in the communal areas, but I’ve grown up now. I only make meals that are easy to prep. No more Gordon Ramsay–style camping 👩🍳 The toilets are flushing and super clean. Maybe we just got lucky because there weren’t many campers at the time. Dogs or other pets aren’t allowed, so birds and kangaroos can roam freely and happily. It might be a good spot for boating, but there are no showers and no potable water. Personally, I think people need a shower after any sport activity. In the morning, I saw someone brushing her teeth with the non-potable water, and I wondered if I was being a bit of a princess for brushing my teeth earlier with bottled mineral water 👸💅 The lake looks pretty nice from a distance, but the water isn’t clear at all. It has sand, dust, or clay mixed in. I wouldn’t recommend swimming. There isn’t much of a walk around the area, and it’s not well maintained. A large chunk of a dead tree blocks part of the path. You can walk around it easily, no fuss. But even the signage, including the information about the dam, is falling apart.
No hot showers (which were advertised) & apparently they are removing the showers completely in Feb 2026. Apart from that a very nice spot by the lake with lots of wildlife.
Great place to camp. Clean toilets but no showers anymore. Book online and pay a fee to parks Vic. When we were there it was $16.50 per night. Fires allowed in fire pits only which are located closer to the lake and not actually at camp sites. Bring your levelers if in a van as there isn't a lot of level ground.
Love this place! Super sunny flat spot. Spent 5 nights. Some reception. Lots of walks. Walked 1 hour to the shower block, flat very peaceful. Heaps of wildlife. Beautiful views of lake. Beware - the rosellas will come into your car and Kookaburra will swoop down and try and steal your food out of your hands. 😂 Can't wait to go back.
We booked 1 night and wanted to extend but and didn't like it there. First of all, all camp sites are right next to each other. As far as we saw it, there is only one fireplace directly on the river. The river view is great and the kangaroo family was cuddly. The taps directly at the places did not work. The toilets were very clean.
