It is a small but uncrowded park with lots of room to throw a ball and games like cornhole up front to keep you entertained when not at the lake. If you have a 30 amp camper there are sites with water views and fire pits, if you want to tent camp there are some phenomenal spots right by the water. If you have a 50 amp camper you are limited to just a parking lot type area with limited views of the lake but there is sewage. The bathrooms are “rustic” but the management is super friendly and helpful - call to make the reservation and they charge when you get there but truly hold your spots they committed to. The beach area is huge and solid enough to drive on when the lake is low and it makes this place unique. The sunset and the access to the lake are what get this a 4 star for me.
Outside of the generator sound running all night, the campground is quite nice. We had a spot right on the water, and site was clean when we got there. The weather was nice. The camp staff was helpful, even with suggestion of cash payment to save money. A spot to stay if your in the area, especially for the Northwest OHV in Bridgeport.
Beautiful place to rough camp. They also have rv hookups with power and water. Playground, mini golf, horseshoes, cornhole, washers, etc. There’s a beach and boat ramps. we had a blast and will definitely be returning.
Stayed there for a 4 day weekend to wheel in bridgeport. The scenery is beautiful, the staff are amazing (they even handle trash removal daily), and the camping sites are enormous. Beautiful beach to drive on for great sunset photos. Campsites contained an awning with concrete picnic bench under as well as a firepit (we went during a burn ban so couldn't use pit). Other residents were quiet and respectful. Will 100% be our destination for any trips to the wise county area.
First visit here and I have been between Azle and Springtown for 34 years, never knew they existed until word of mouth. I stopped and talked to Park Official and he was very nice and informative! We will be camping there real soon! The day beach is Free and Amazing (Just come prepared with your own shade) Beach area does not have any shade. I'm excited and can't wait to camp there. Make it a great day!
