Had a wonderful week camping at Oastler Lake. The sound of the trains didn't really bother us. The fishing was not good, but we had fun kayaking and swimming. Our dog enjoyed swimming too. We used the small 2 stall bathroom near our site. They were kept pretty clean, but often ran out of toilet paper. Firewood sold on site was nice and dry. My family really liked this park, we will return!

Beautiful park! I imagine it gets even more beautiful in the fall! Our site was 151 — a beautiful site with two pads so you can park separate from where your tent or eating is. Waterfront access and incredibly clean! Only reason it isn’t five stars because there are trains that run through semi often. It didn’t bother me too much and I didn’t wake up in the night, but was challenging getting to bed. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper! This is also a very easy stop off the highway so if you are driving through on the TransCanada, this park adds virtually no time going out of the way. I have never heard of this park prior, but I’m so glad we have stopped as I’d love to go back now we know!

Sites are generous in size and spaced apart nicely. The land is beautiful with well kept grounds. The front staff are very friendly and helpful and the staff kept the washrooms and grounds very clean and well stocked daily. The beaches and water were stunning. The park was rented out yet we couldn’t tell at all it was busy. Very quiet and so specious the entire weekend was very peaceful.

This park was lovely! I’ve visited very many Ontario parks, and while this one isn’t my favourite, it was a nice few days. Tucked close to Parry sound, there was no shortage of adventures to be had. We went up the tower and walked the gardens, which I highly recommend, walked the rose point trail, took the swing bridge to Parry Island, and saw the trains roar past Reynolds junction. The park is quiet, beautiful, and the sites are great! As with most parks, the electric are much less private, but the non electric and walk ins are amazing, right on the water! One thing that took a star away - TRAINS!! The trains go by all day AND night, so if you’re a light sleeper, you want white noise or best to find another northern park.

Went camping on a long weekend this summer with some friends. The beach is beautiful, clean and great for walking in the water. But there are no washrooms nearby the beach, washrooms are located on the opposite side of the park. There are no shade shelters or umbrellas for the picnic tables. The park is very small and you can walk the entire thing in about 15 minutes. The sites offer no privacy or separation from other sites. Friends of ours on another site said that other campers just walked through their site to take a shortcut to the showers. Very unsettling at night to hear people walk right beside your tent. There is little to no patrolling or enforcement of the provincial park rules. ( noise, burning of garbage etc) The water is very shallow, which is great for children but not the best for adults who want to swim. If you went out past the enclosure so swim in deeper water, the weeds were very bad. The area is very close to a railway, so you do hear a train almost every hour or so and it does happen throughout the night. The stars from the beach are beautiful and we still had a great time despite some unexpected surprises. It is the loudest camping ground I have ever stayed at. If you come here to get away from the noise of the city, you will be left disappointed.
