Hickory Hills Campground at Bass Lake

First let me say if I could give it zero stars, I would... We stayed 3 months due to my husbands work at this "campground" which is actually worse than a run down trailer park and that's being polite.. They claim that the sites are 50amp but they really aren't and when ya bring it to their attention & show them, they want to argue with ya about it (my husband is an Electrician so he knows electrical), we even offered to change it over if they purchased the stuff but they didn't care to do that or respond (but will charge ya for 50amp when it'it's really 30amp).. The animals in the super small flea infested run down pen are constantly getting out due to it not being properly built and way too small for the number of animals they have in there.. One day in particular 4 of the animals (2 goats, a donkey and mini horse) were wondering around 4 times and one of the goats was ramming the front of our motorhome two times.. We are expected to clean up after our dogs so why don't they clean up the massive dumps from the donkey and mini horse?? I was walking one of my dogs and the donkey was nipping at my shirt and my dog that was leashed.. If you're gonna have animals, be responsible owners so they aren't causing harm to people and/or animals and destroying other people's property!! I walked into the bathroom to wash my hands after petting the animals when we 1st arrived and they are beyond nasty, they look like they haven't been cleaned in quite a few years!! They have "permanent" residents there and their yards look like it is a yard sale every day!! It could be a beautiful campground but the owners are only worried about collecting the money and not putting it back into the campground!! Oh and don't try to ask Eddie a quick question cuz ya will hear all about his ex wife and issues they had or he will be bad mouthing his so called maintenance guys!! I wouldn't recommend this "campground" to my worst enemy!!!

Campground is great! Kelly and Eddie are awesome hosts. Kelly goes out of her way to make sure everyone is taken care of. We played bingo, and had a blast. Everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be coming back!!

Cool place, host and staff are friendly and funny. big playground for the kids. I'm definitely bringing the grandkids next time. Bingo was a blast! And apparently the donkey is an escape artist, and just chills by the road greeting the campers coming and going.

Big lots , owners are extremely nice they accommodated me with a very large truck and long camper where others turned me down. Very peaceful. If you have children it's a place back in where they can run and play, lots of playground room. Awesome part is for me I stay sometimes for a year at one place or sometimes 2 weeks they work with you on this also they don't charge more because your not sure how long or short you will be there.
