Really nice place. Lots of parking spots. Has their own lake, pool, hot tub, entertainment areas, hiking trails, etc. Have their own trail and parking area to their beach area; along with a restroom at the beach. Lots of wildlife. Restrooms/showers are mobile containers (not very comfortable/convenient but tolerable) and cleaned regularly. Would stay there again.
Enjoyed the Lake Michigan access and campground beach section. Great for beautiful sunset viewing. Campground was large but with various loops so it seemed private too. Nice amenities and pool area was very clean. We're first timers at pickelball and was able to be one of the first players on the new court . . . a fun time. We'd go back and would recommend.
This is our first year camping here and we love it. Beautiful wooded campground, large lots, great staff, perfect location and a lot of fun activities. Access to the Lake Michigan private beach is also a game changer. A giant thank you to Joe, Arlene, Christine, Eric and all their kids, plus staff. They ALL work SO hard so guests don’t have to!!! EXCITED FOR NEXT SEASON!!!!!
July 2025 Pros & Cons then summary. Pictures included. Cons 1. Horrible phone service and no internet. T-Mobile and Verizon. Can’t make a call or get online. The campground needs to offer internet. 2. Not the cleanest park. Bathrooms, pool/hot tub, sites were not the worst I’ve seen, but could be much better. 3. Pool was closed our first morning there. Never tried to go back because as a water safety professional I can say it wasn’t clean or safe. Hot tub - didn’t go in but felt the water. It should be called Luke warm tub. 4. This park is permanent sites. Some are nicely maintained but so many are junky. Obviously not controlled by the resort so not their fault 5. Sites have water and electric and supposedly a grey water dump on some sites. Be warned — it’s a pvc pipe sticking out of the ground about 3” that is way too small to fit your grey water hose. They told us at check-in we would need an adapter and they don’t sell them in the camp store. Would be nice to know this in advance. 6. Resort website needs pictures of the grounds such as the pool, hot tub, game room, all bathrooms. Pros 1. Site was large and level. Will be muddy though in rainy conditions. Easy pull through with nicely maintained permanent sites in view. This was site 117. 2. Quiet and friendly. We were here during the week. I imagine there’s a lot more activity on weekends but we arrived on Sunday and there was activity without excessive or disturbing noise. Residents are friendly. 3. Mobile dump service available for $30 4. Nicely wooded with lots of shade. Sites appear more like a State park than an RV resort. 5. Easy distance to Silver lake dunes, Pentwater, and Ludington. Summary Probably won’t be back due to Cons listed above. There are other nicer resorts in the area for the same or comparable price.
Our vacation at Woodland Shores was beyond amazing! The staff were very friendly and the grounds were clean and easy to find all of the amenities. The bathrooms were clean and well kept, especially with the amount of traffic coming through. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
