We had a peaceful and quiet stay in October. Great lake views, beautiful foliage and clean & decent smelling pit toilets were also a huge plus. 🙂 It was our first time staying at this campground, however would highly recommend camping here any time of the year. Can't wait to go back in this Summer.
If you like rustic camping. This spot is for you. Nice sites to choose from. Clean vaulted bathrooms. Nice lake to go fishing, boating or kayaking. Even star gazing.
So far it has been a quiet campground with large sites, open but mostly shaded. Note: most sites are not "secluded in the woods" type sites. Small amt road noise. Nicely kept. Light from airport minimal, 1 light that i thought was the mooon is visible through trees. Only 1 other site filled each night so far. Good location for regional activities. Nice distance from town. Hard to find maps online so I posted a pic of the map from the info station.
My family camped here in the 70's. Some of my best memories were made here. Sliding down the sand path from our site to the water, camping in the rain, fishing and eating a fish dinner after we caught a bunch. My brother beat my dad in a fishing contest when he was seven. So much life lived.
Nice and quiet, right on the lake, clean bathrooms and the water (well water i believe but it actually doesn't taste like it, it's great!!) we were one of only 3 campers in the whole place!
