Bass Lake Provincial Park
About
There is a dump station and water available inside the gate and before the gatehouse. However, it is not possible to connect a hose for a pressurized septic flush. There is rinse water available, but it is non-potable. The location of the dump station is on Highway 12, 5 km west of Orillia.

Bass lake is a beautiful provincial park. Campsites seemed to be nice. Park staff was very friendly. We planned to spend the day paddle boarding and fishing the lake. But unfortunately the water was unsafe due to the blue green algae, which was a shame. So instead we hiked the bass lake waterfront trail. It was around 2.5km and took about 45 minutes. Lots of cool stuff to see and some elevation. Was a decent hike. Will be back to explore the lake when it's safe to do so.
Nice park, easy to get around. Close to town in the event you forget anything, too. Only downside was that our campsite was pretty slanted. We were expecting major rainfall all weekend so we had to set up our tents on the very edges of the site as to miss the water run-off trails to keep our tents dry. Canoe/kayak rentals reasonably priced. Park offers a few docks for fishing - but the water is quite shallow so bring bobbers unless you’re going out on the water.
We came here on a Sunday in August and it was fantastic. It was my first time here. You can either arrive early to buy the permit on site or buy online before. The park is pretty huge and offers camping, nice sandy beach, day use picnic area, playground for kids and also rental canoe. We used the day pass for the beach and picnic area. Picnic area is pretty clean with multiple benches to use and also barbeque is allowed. The beach however is pretty small compared to picnic area. It is very clean with clear water. There is a store nearby beach area offering some small items and rental canoes, which is reasonably priced for an hour use. Parking space is close to each picnic area and there is alot of space to park. Washrooms are pretty clean and it was stocked once we visited. Overall, I enjoyed the experience here and I will come back for sure.
Great park, good facilities, and clean. There are a lot of great spots to set your stuff for the day. Also plenty of camping sites (you must book in advance if coming for camping. Parking is very close to the beach, and water is warm.Water is not clear but still very nice beach to relax for the day.It is a small park for kids and also you rent water kayak . Entry is $21 per car.BBQ allowed. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Good place to go! Fresh air and quiet place and good spot to reconnect with nature. They have spacious camping sites. This place is also good for biking. Lots of walking trails too. Washrooms are okay. The beach side can be crowded during weekends, water is clean and shallow and good for kids but Adults can enjoy the far side. You can rent kayak too. Our site location is hilltop side kinda far from the beach,so we ride our car since i have 3 little kids who hates long walks .and also we have lots of thing to bring to the picnic beach area so riding car from our campsite is the best way. We are very happy during our stay. Definitely going back here next summer.
