About
The main gate does not allow RV inspections and will not perform inspections there. There is potable water and non-potable rinse water available. To get to the RV dump station, you need to go off base. Take US 101 to Lompoc and then follow US 20 to reach the base.

Great place to watch spacex launches. Many areas around the Base to watch. Close to the beach.
TRUCK DRIVES BEWARE Make sure to watch them while they are searching your truck. I had a lot of personal belongings missing after their search. I’m a female OTR driver. 8-10 weeks out, few days home. I need all my stuff to survive out here. Shame on the people who stole my things! It happened on 9/03/25 7:30-8:30am.
Vandenberg Space Force Base, located on California's central coast, is a key national security asset known for its role in space launches, missile testing, and range operations. It's a sprawling installation with 35 miles of pristine coastline, encompassing over 98,000 acres, and is considered a military base in a national park setting. Vandenberg is a crucial site for placing satellites into polar orbit and supports Minuteman III missile testing. It also serves as a spaceport for civil and commercial launches, including those by NASA and SpaceX. I formally made a civilian request for the space force in 1999. It was non civilian access. I advocate for civilian military integrations.
It’s like It’s own city! This place is huge.
This place is not allowed to enter without a army sponsor. Luckily I have a friend who retired from the army and could go in with him. This place is huge and you may go gym, restaurant and beach. It is worth to be there.
