This is a fabulous campground but deep within the national park. Coming from Casino you travel over farming track which was very rough. Once in the NP the track improves. Heading out to Kyogle was better but it is easy to get lost and I would not drive a 3wd in any kind of rain. Once there, though, it is really lovely forest with a creek to the back of the campsite and lots of birds and animals.

Stunning location. The ground was incredibly boggy though, despite grass cover, so we did get stuck once we drove off the gravel onto the grass area to access our site (within camping area). We were in 4L and still needed to air down to 18psi to get traction and get moving again. Just a note about accessibility and potential hazards for 2 wheel drive vehicles in damp conditions. We recommend walking the area before driving on grass to assess the ground condition to prevent getting stuck. Beautiful area and hut was great for making a fire and enjoying our meals in the damp weather and helping us to enjoy the outdoors under some shelter.

Really amazing and disconnected from society, brought my 2wd during dry conditions but really tough on low cars for the road — but still very possible! Take your own firewood, no collection is permitted, no bins for a solid 30 minutes. There's a water tank to use. A communal shaded 'kitchen' with fire stove. Very clean park, lots of native birds and such. Take care packing away food, and rubbish as a lizard (or two) likes to wonder around looking for scraps. Night sky is amazing, stars are very visible. Just take it easy on the road, as it's one car wide only. Not many walking spots, you can walk on the road for some wildlife, and some areas around the campground like the creek. Friday night we had the entire site to ourselves, seems to populate during Saturday lunchtime. Only 4 stars due to the very rough roads, that can be an issue for 2wd vehicles during rain

I did not camp, but stopped there for a picnic. Really pretty, well maintained, in a quiet and picturesque location. Certainly a perfect camping location to enjoy tranquil of nature. I expect you will see a lot of wildlife, e.g. kangaroos, etc. at sunset.

Very nice quiet and peaceful spot. Headed east from Bonalbo and the road was fine. Water in the creek but it was murky and still so didn’t look that enticing for a swim. Take own firewood. Take own rubbish bin. Drop toilet very clean. Not a lot for kids to do here. Bird life was amazing. Pademelons everywhere especially at night. Few goannas getting around. Fire flies came out on dusk and danced around for about 20mins before they were gone. Didn’t see any glow worms in the creek. Lovely drive from Peacock Creek campground heading east towards Kyogle. Definitely recommend the drive from Bonalbo eastwards up the range, camp the night at Peacock, then head further east down the range towards Kyogle. Great little 24hr trip.
