The MAIN CAVERN was cool the others were closed. 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨FIRSTLY:::: PLEASE KEEP IN MIND you’re coming head and face with “Chicken Nuggets” AKA BATS. They’re EVERYWHERE!!! IF you don’t pay attention … you can accidentally walk right into one. My wife was paying attention as she does everywhere and our son almost went smack dab into one. I’m giving this a 3 STAR due to the fact because of the BATS. If the owners know that people are face to face MER 2 INCHES from these creatures and having people walk in and out of there everyday.. the bats should be placed in a sanctuary where they’re NOT disturbed and having people shining lights in their eyes and making loud noises all the time. There was one bat who was getting agitated towards the end of the tour because people were doing just that (shining the lights on it) and it was awake and doing ECHOLOCATION and we all know that’s what they do to find their food. 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 SECONDLY:::: be prepared to get your feet slightly wet. As it’s wet and damped and SLIPPERY. So watch out. Lastly, BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR HEAD. IF YOU’RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION.. YOU WILL HIT YOUR HEAD.

We had an absolutely incredible experience at Cascade Caverns. From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we were stepping back in time. This isn’t a flashy, over-commercialized cave tour with lights and high-tech displays everywhere — it truly feels like exploring a real, natural cave the way it was meant to be experienced. The formations were fascinating and beautifully preserved. Every turn revealed something new — intricate stalactites, towering columns, and hidden spaces that made the entire experience feel adventurous and authentic. It was intriguing in the best way, like discovering something ancient and untouched. What truly made the tour unforgettable, though, was our guide. Christi was fantastic — knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the cave’s history and geology. She made the experience both educational and exciting, answering questions and sharing stories that brought the cavern to life. If you’re looking for a genuine cave experience — one that feels raw, natural, and memorable — Cascade Caverns is absolutely worth it. It felt like touring a real cave for the very first time, without all the modern distractions. We loved every minute of it!

Every cave has its spotlight and this one was its nuggets!!! All over! The bats are about the size of a chicken nugget and they are hanging out everywhere. It was so cool! This cave was less developed… less lighting less railings and such but it kinda added to the coolness as well… we got flashlights and felt like real explorers!

So, y’all. My wife and I had hadn’t even heard of Cascade Caverns, we but saw a sign for it as we passed through Boerne. We’ve enjoyed a few other caverns (Carlsbad, Inner Space, and Natural Bridge) so we decided to visit on a whim. Cascade Caverns is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the visit. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. My wife and I arrived early enough to get our own private tour. Our tour guide, Ireland, was great and you could tell she really enjoyed her job and cared about the cavern’s preservation. Ireland encouraged and happily answered our questions. She took the time to ensure we remained safe. One of the great things about Cascade Caverns is that it retains much of its “natural” state, allowing visitors to navigate using flashlights. This makes the cavern tour feel more personal and individualized, a bit like you are exploring the cave by yourself.
