We had a ton of fun here on an afternoon hike. We did a medley of connected shorter trails that added up to probably a 6-7 mile hike, including the nature trail around the visitor center, wildcat, ore trail, spillway, and part of the Montgomery bell trail. The staff and rangers were super informative and friendly. The only downside is that there are so many trails down now that some trails are inaccessible and others you have to go-off trail for periods of time (make sure to grab a trail map!). The water was out in the visitor center when we came back after our hike and the campground is being completely redone so there’s a sense of “give us a year and come back” that I get. We used the bathroom and filled our water bottles at the lodge, which was beautiful.
Boaz Blessings has been replacing all the Mountain Bike Trail bridges in the park. We appreciate the opportunity to do this volunteer work in a beautiful, natural environment.
Our son and daughter-in-law were married here a week ago and Rachel, Shawn, Tina, Amber, and Courtney made this a wonderful weekend! They were so sweet and constantly checked in with us to make sure every detail was taken care of and greeted any guest with welcome arms. Rachel was there the entire weekend making sure we were happy and we can’t say enough about this wonderful individual who is so upbeat, fun, detailed oriented, and has a heart to serve. It was really a blessing to have their wedding at this park! It was so nice to have all the guest at the hotel, and their food, bar, trails, and outdoor activities made it wonderful. All our guest loved the welcome & karaoke party on Friday night then Saturday to do activities at the park and then the wedding on Saturday evening. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Montgomery Bell as it was a beautiful and fun wedding!
Very helpful and friendly staff at the gift shop. There was also a ranger and she helped me answer my questions. I reached at 4 and it is their closing time. They still talked and answered my questions patiently. It is nice park but Lake wodhaven did not have water flowing. That is what I went there for. It has restaurant on site as well. I will visit again once we have water flowing through the stairs.
We had a great visit. We had our family reunion here and wow, that the staff and a facility treat us. Well, we were very humble by there. Due diligence of how things were up being handled and humbled by there. Generosity, so thank you to the staff on the Montgomery bell state park. Facility a ton of things to do a ton of trails to walk. We were very pleased with our room. The cleanliness, the hotel was just a plus parking was great and plentiful. There's a small beach. What surprised me? The kids really enjoyed it. Not my kids, but I saw other kids. There My kids are grown, but they probably still would enjoy it. And the sand was white. It's a white sandy beach. Small area to swim, though. So I don't think you're going to, you know, come there and swim like in the oceans or Olympic pool or anything. Just basically just to cool off, then lay back on the beach. It was more for little kids than anything. I'll just come out and say it. But the kayaks, roboats, paddle boards, no motorized vehicle, of course. A lot of picnic areas, and you can barbecue. All in all it was, we had a great time. Total recommendation.
