Mabel Lake Resort and Airpark

Beautiful area but the resort is a miss if you're looking forward to a quiet getaway. This place is a zoo.

Great lake, lots to do including boat and paddle board rentals. Cabins are directly on the beach with upgraded bathrooms and air conditioning in every cabin. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly, with an overall welcoming and uplifting atmosphere. There is no fuel for vehicles out there tho so make sure you have has before heading past the Ashton Creek store.

The individual operating the Jeep had a significant negative impact on our week at the campground, as well as on the experience of my family. He consistently arrived long before 11:00 PM and demanded that we keep the noise down during our activities. He claimed that others were complaining about us, but that was simply not true. We couldn't even enjoy a quiet game of crib with moderate music without disruption. His behavior really took away from our ability to relax and enjoy our time together. What stood out most was his ignorance and arrogance, especially when our teens and we were using the golf carts in a responsible manner. Despite our longstanding presence at this campground, we had never experienced issues like this before. I can speak for many people I know who visit the campground—it’s completely unacceptable for him to behave in this way. Everyone values their sleep, of course, but enjoying a good laugh, music, and a campfire is part of the experience. We shouldn’t be made to feel guilty for having fun and socializing, especially when we’ve always respected the campground. It's important that this situation is addressed, as the actions of a few should not overshadow the enjoyment of the many. A balance between peaceful relaxation and social interaction is necessary for everyone to have a positive experience.

We have had the privilege of delivering our RV rental trailers here for several years. The staff and new owners are fantastic to deal with and very accommodating! They have a great little store with everything you could ever need. Be sure to get a cone at the ice cream shop and enjoy it on their upper deck with a million dollar view of the lake!

I really like it here. We come on average about once a yr. New owners now and some changes are good like internet reachable in the cabins. We did not come for internet though. Ac now in the cabin helps. Cabin was clean. But to be honest the new owners are not that engaging and so much use of the chainsaw today a lot of the day was a set back and not enjoyable! Just wanted to relax and listen to music on the beach but couldn't hear a lot of the day. Beer prices were once much better too at the convenience store, even last yr! Still tried to enjoy our time and I spent a lot of time on the beach cleaning up after other messy slob guests and collected lots of debris for the beach fire I made. The bed is super firm hard. Was very stiff this am. Currently 3 of 5 stars this round.
