It is a quiet and maintained park. We have been here almost a month for February, waiting for nicer weather in the Northern California and High Desert. It has minimal essentials store on site, but also abundant restaurants and shopping are close by. Has full timers and transient spaces. Nicely located to take day trips into Los Angeles, San Diego, San Bernardino Mountains, Cleveland National Forest, Palm Springs. Plus Rt. 74 the Ortega Highway is a fantastic ride to the coast or the desert. So it makes for a great base camp to come home to and rest. I have to give Hunny's a breakfast place down the street and The Bobber at Launch Pointe a shout out for great tasting and filling meals. I can't speak for the bathrooms and showers, since we are self contained. Hook ups worked ok, but cable TV is $60 returnable deposit. Which the connection outside did not work so we had to go with Starlink. There is a laundry. Been a nice, peaceful and safe stay.
The Resort has so much potential, but the man running is very rude. He closed the bathrooms early. They’re not really clean. He also locked people’s clothes in the laundry as they were washing them. He put us on a site where somebody was using our power and then when we complained about it, he was like use the other outlet and then the second night of us being there, someone came to the site where we was using the power. So much confusion for no reason. The place is quiet.
We were so excited to try this place- but in every aspect we were let down. From the start was an unfriendly check in, loose dogs and cats, cable not working (you have to BUY your coax cable- we called the cable company after trying to hook up with no luck and they said the campground should provide you with the cable company’s branded coax, hence why it didn’t work), electricity going in and out all night- waking up with no phone battery, a warm fridge, and listening to beeping from appliances turning on/off all night, trash and junk around everyone’s campsites, the bathrooms being locked at certain times, and the showers being absolutely DISGUSTING (filth, mold, trash, hair everywhere, no lock on one door, the faucet broke on the second, and the third shower completely locked) we will not be back. When we went to talk to the gentleman in the office he accused us of fraud for asking for half of our money back- told us to get out and if we had a problem to call the Sherriff’s department. We were shocked as we were just trying to reason with him. This place has so much potential- I’m fine roughing it but this was ROUGH. Our neighbor was fantastic but we couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there. Hoping management will get this place together because it truly is the perfect spot on the lake.
We had an incredible time here with our two dogs, and they absolutely loved it even more than we did! The resort is super pet-friendly, with tons of grassy areas and direct lake access where they could run, play, and splash to their hearts’ content. Pure puppy paradise! The full hook-up sites were shaded by big mature trees, and even able to stay right on the lakefront that gave us gorgeous views of the night lights. The staff was friendly, the facilities were clean, and we loved how relaxed and welcoming the whole place felt. One thing that really stood out and made our stay even better: we felt completely safe the entire time thanks to the regular law enforcement patrols throughout the park. Knowing CHP was keeping an eye on things gave us total peace of mind, especially traveling with our dogs and staying for an extended trip. Hands-down one of the best RV resorts we’ve ever visited. Dog-approved and human-approved! We’ll definitely be back — highly recommend! 🐶🌊
The campground needs a lot of TLC. I'm sure it was great years ago. The man that runs the front office and store is the most unfriendly person we've met in any campground. The restrooms are horrible and their limited hours set for them are ridiculous. The sites are pretty tight. It would be great if kids had even a small playground. We almost left as soon as we checked in. That being said we had a good time fishing and kayaking with our grandchildren and celebrating Thanksgiving. The weather was perfect, which helped. The price was fair. We probably would not stay here again. The restrooms hours were m-th 7am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday 7-10pm and Sunday 7am to 8pm so if your in a camper with your family and appreciate an extra restroom plan accordingly because the restrooms are locked up outside if those hours.
