Always kind and accommodating for our family. Beautifully equipped cabins. We were late arriving due to weather conditions, Edie was beyond understanding and so helpful. Thanks again for having us!
Stayed in a premium cabin for a week. Positive The cabin was beautiful and clean The outdoor pool is nice Negative The price for the cabins is a lot There was a sewage leak when we first got there with sewage everywhere that stunk a lot. Children were seen playing in the puddles because no was informed it was sewage. I only found out because I asked the next day. There was not a day that I did not hear machinary/construction including work being done on septic tanks behind our cabin, graders grading the road to cover up the sewage and other machines. Septic tank covers were off posing a huge risk for small children. The cabins are so close together and there is virtually no green space. Our firepit was located in the gravel parking space. Most office staff were good but jasmine had a snotty attitude. The beach was nice
We traveled here for a wedding and 2 weeks before so we could enjoy my hometown and spend time with friends, about a month prior, they attempted to book us a site near their seasonal lot. At that time, they were assured it would be arranged. Two weeks later, they were informed that the booking had not been made and that the site had already been taken by someone else. We then reserved site L17, with the understanding that we would have to move later, which we were fine with. We checked in last Sunday, but even the day before we were scheduled to move, no site had been planned for us. The night before the move, at 9:00 p.m., we went to the office to follow up and discovered that no arrangements had been made. We were given two options: 1. A seasonal lot, with uncertainty about when the current holders would return. 2. A site too small to accommodate our truck, camper, dogs, and children. We ultimately chose a site in the new area. On the day of the move, I called to request a discount due to the clear mismanagement of our booking. The manager was extremely rude, condescending, and attempted to shift the blame onto me, even stating that she did not have to allow us to stay given how many bookings she had. Based on this experience, I strongly advise avoiding this campground. Several seasonal holders I spoke with also expressed dissatisfaction with the manager’s handling of the campground.
Cabins are brand new and beautiful. Pool was warm and the kids loved it. Golf cart rentals were $68 for the day and the kids were allowed to drive them as long as they had a learners. Special shout out to the girls that work at the front desk. Had to write a review to say how good they were!!
We stayed at Big Fish Bay for a weekend in early July, and honestly, we couldn’t wait to leave. The place was a huge letdown. The campsites are packed way too close together — no privacy at all. You can literally hear every conversation from the next site over, and we felt more like we were in a parking lot than out in nature. The washrooms were dirty most of the time, and the showers were either freezing cold or just didn’t work. We saw staff around, but it didn’t seem like much was being maintained. Garbage bins were overflowing near our site, and the smell wasn’t great in the heat. The lake looks nice in pictures, but the shoreline was full of weeds and the water was super murky. We planned to swim and hang out by the water, but that idea was off the table pretty fast. Worst part? The noise. There were loud parties both nights we were there, and nobody seemed to be enforcing the quiet hours. It was impossible to get a decent night’s sleep. We ended up packing up and leaving early. It just wasn’t worth it. There are way better spots in Alberta that are actually clean, quiet, and taken care of. I wouldn’t go back.
