Would not recommend this place to anybody pulled into a half empty park on a Sunday out of season nobody around reach somebody by phone very rude claimed to be Sunday parks closed before we could negotiate a way to pay the following morning was hung up on seems to be a very local park Lots of full-time RV live in unkept RVs in the park.
This is a no-frills campground that appears to cater more or less to long term stays, some are unkept. The grounds themselves were clean. The Eel River is just a short walk and this section is beautiful. It looks like it would be a great fishing spot. We stayed for two nights and it was very quiet. I did not dig the light post outside of site 10. Just bright, kinda ruined the evening experience. The power panel at site 10 was being held upright by the conduit, and the breaker was having personal issues, but I was tired from our drive, didn't want to deal with the complaint or moving, and it held out over our stay. The sewer connection is lame, with a "Sweeping Y," and a rise above the deck around 8-10 inches. Made dumping lovely having to work the "stinky slinky," so I wasn't a fan. Water pressure was good, but use a regulator. Starlink worked decent. The view, area, and nightly price were worth the stop. I'd really be interested to visit during spring time. This park has a ton of potential and just needs a bit more TLC I guess. But the location and quietness is pretty priceless.
What a wonderful place to stay!!! Easy access from the freeway, big spaces, clean facilities, and the beautiful Eel River right in front of your RV. Plus a great walking/biking trail at one end of the park. Mikka and Jeremy (the managers) were wonderful- welcoming and happy to help and give tips on what to see and do in the area. We loved Rivers Edge and can’t wait to stay again.
Little gem of a RV park/campground we stayed at last year for a few days. It's on the smaller side, so you don't deal with the noise of dozens of other guests. Our stay was blissfully noise-free. I think the only loud noise we heard at any point (other than pine cones...more on that below) was when the manager (Jeremy) mowed. This isn't a place you book if you want to be constantly entertained or where kids' activities are scheduled several hours each day. You book here when you want (or need) a break from hustle and bustle. Park is managed by Mikka and Jeremy. Generally friendly but like the rest of us sometimes they might not always be super sunny. Neither of them ever reached a point where they were rude or anything of the sort; more like we caught them in the middle of dealing with something frustrating which is understandable since it's the two of them taking care of everything at this campground/RV park, and they do a great job of it. The sites are clean and well maintained, as are the restrooms and laundry facilities. Any issues or concerns were promptly dealt with. Several people here were long-term residents and everyone we met was friendly. Access to the park is a single road which cuts way down on traffic. If you have pets, it's a safe area to take dogs for walks (they have to be on a leash). As a safety note, if you have young children with you, be aware that the Eel River is maybe a minute's walk away and the bank is out of site from the level of the camper/RV spots. There's also a row of pine trees along the camper/RV sites, and they drop some of the biggest pine cones I've ever seen! When the winds were high on one days of our short stay, it was a worry that a branch might come down on the camper or one of the mega pine cones would crack or break a window. It would be good if the person or company that actually owns the park bring in a tree company to do some preventative trimming as several of the trees had dead branches. Other than worry about a branch coming down on a particularly windy night and a few huge pine cones that thudded on the roof and woke us out of sleep (seriously - these cones were the size of those personal watermelons at the grocery store), the stay here was perfect. We will absolutely be back here when our travels bring us back to the area. The peace and quiet coupled with a beautiful river view was heaven.
We stopped by for just an overnight stay. We were greeted with a smile and how can we help you? Luckily they had an open spot and we were shown to our site. The host noticed that we had a flat tire on our tow vehicle and quickly went back for his truck with an air compressor! He stood out in the pouring rain helping my husband get it pumped up so we could get to an auto parts store. SO helpful and friendly! Well maintained grounds, clean, and beautiful river view! We'll definitely be stopping by again when we are in the area.
