First time here. Great spot deep in the Florida Forest. Well kept campground - RV sites with good ground for tents, too. Tent camped for the weekend in mid November '25. Hiked the 4 mile trail around Karick Lake - good trail for barefoot hiking. I'd give it a 3 on a barefoot difficulty scale of 1-10, pretty easy on the feet if you like to go barefoot. Only negative is that the bathhouse, basically a wet room of toilet and shower together, was wet with standing water on the floor from the shower - poor ventilation in the building kept it wet with condensation on the walls, toilet, sink, and door. Don't know if that's the case year round... We'll be back in a month for another weekend of vagabonding.
Love coming here in early November. Warm days for hiking and cool nights for a fire. The deer are everywhere. It is so beautiful and peaceful.
Park is very well maintained and quiet. RV lots are paved and fairly level. 30 amp and water hookups at each site, with a dump station at the entrance. Lake is stocked and there is a deck for fishing! Walking trails, boat ramp Clean and well maintained bathrooms with showers are available. Very nice camping site!
My son came for a visit, and we took him fishing. We didn't really catch much, but we did have a good time. It was quiet and clean. Wouldn't mind doing a camping trip there one day
We stayed 3 nights at the North Karick Lake campgrounds and really enjoyed our time there. There are a total of 16 sites, one of which is the camp Host site. Due to Covid-19, there were limited spaces available. We were only 1 of 3 or 4 other campers there and they had us all spaced way out. We stayed at site 12 which backs up to the bathrooms but still had a lake view in the distance. Just note that if you choose site 12 or 13 near the bathrooms you will have to put up with the light that can be annoying if you want pure darkness while tent camping like us. The facilities were well maintained with separate bathrooms and showers for men and women. There was hot water and the showers had great water pressure. We had access to both a 30 amp power box and water at our site. It was very peaceful! The Karick Lake Loop Trail around the lake was also enjoyable to hike. We were able to find plenty of sticks every night to get some great campfires going. We would absolutely stay again!
