Silver Valley Campground

Great Campground, very quiet and just far enough from the lake to avoid the bugs but close enough that to make for easy lake days. Multiple hiking trails close by so you can hike in the morning and spend your afternoons on the lake.

We spent four nights at Silver Valley Campground at Alpine Lake. The campground is smaller than the others nearby, which is great and tends to be calmer. We were in site 13, which is in the inner loop, but not far from the water spigot, bathroom and trail down to the lake. It's about a 10 minute walk down to the lake from the campground. The facilities we kept very clean and it seemed to be very well managed. Our campground host, Joe (I believe), was friendly, welcoming and took good care of the grounds. This is a campground I can recommend and will consider staying again.

Sites are nice and far apart. The ground is very tussocky and not level in a lot of spots; the outer ring sites are on a slope. Toilets were kept clean, but in midday there was an unpleasant chemical odor to them. (Better than the alternative, but not a joy.) Nights were fine and unstinky. Bathrooms are unlit at night so the campground is quite dark and the stars are fabulous. Our first night was mostly tent campers, which was very nice; lots of kids riding bikes around the loop. Good family friendly spot. There's a trail that leads you down to the Pine Marten campground and the lake, takes about 5-10 minutes altogether. The lake is wonderful. There are bears!!! USE THE BOXES!!!

Beautiful campground, so peaceful and clean. The host Angel was amazing, very helpful and friendly. My car battery ending up dying and he went above and beyond to help me get it started. He definitely takes pride in his campground and wants to ensure you enjoy your time there. This is my second time there and have had a positive experience both times.

Beautiful and peaceful (apart from random bagpipe guy!) No water whilst we were here. That should be temporary but check ahead.
