Love this campground. Staff is amazing and super friendly. We got there late and the staff still came over and checked us in. Showers and bathrooms are super clean. My daughter loved the playground.
A hidden gym of an RV park in San Juan county. They can accommodate long-term stay or over night. Clean facilities and not too remote, but definitely has an out of town feel.
I'm not sure why the really bad reviews. This place is very affordable, not for the "upper" class. I don't expect marble bathrooms and golden paved parking pads when camping - yes, camping. If people want the Hilton they should stay there. Just my opinion, and I know nobody cares. Back to the Desert Rose, great place stay and tour the region. The "permanent" residents are courteous, quite, and friendly. I will recommend this place to anyone.
I rented a run down, mobile home there for months. It was right next to a gas well located on the property that stunk and leaked all the time. Power outages were frequent. Wi-fi was only accessible in the office which was rarely open. The staff was always fighting with each other and the neighborhood was dangerous. Car explosions. Gang shootings. The roads in the campground are full of potholes and there are stray cats and dogs running around the place all the time. The children's 'playground' is outdated beyond safety codes with big nails sticking out everywhere. It was THE worst place I ever stayed in but, then again, you get what you pay for usually. This dump is overpriced and beyond hope.
They advertise cable tv...couldn't access it. They advertise wi-fi...signal too weak. site very unlevel & unpaved. lot of neighborhood dogs barking. park in a decent part of town, people friendly, but did not see anything more appealing in Bloomfield, Aztec or Farmington. Park needs some serious TLC (like trimming trees).
