We were traveling through in our camper van last night and no other places were open or available so I called them at 7:20pm. The owner answered the phone (very professional and polite)! It is a beautiful little spot and very peaceful. Where our site was, there was a lil creek and you could hear the water running! I highly recommend this beautiful place! 100 stars if I could! It’s dog friendly as well which was a huge plus 4 us! Thank you for sharing your place with us!
We recently stayed here and found bathrooms clean and site roomy. Since it is the end of the season and a holiday week there were not a lot of other campers. If the campground was full however, I could see it feeling like campers were crowding you. It was also rainy so we were not able to check out the hikes. We were located very close to Lake Lure and a large grocery store so that was convenient to get out. The employee, Mike checked in with us and was very available if we needed anything. The owners also checked in with us and very accessible. We would stay there again if in the area and needed a place.
The views and location was beautiful. Very far from any town or stores other then ingles. We stayed here for 7 days in a tent lot. The lot was pretty much in front of three rvs front deck with little room and rotten pinic table. But that was okay. Online it listed HOT showers. We only showered twice in 7 days because the water would run scortching hot for about 2 minutes, then go ICE COLD. Both times the same thing. So cold I was in tears. There are no solid doors in this bathouse so the slightest breeze is ice cold and who knows who can basically see you in there. The week we stayed there it dropped in the teens with high winds of 25-30mph very cold. They placed a heater in the bathroom but it was never turned on so I'd turn it, not on high, but a medium normal setting and id go back in and it was turned off multiple times for about three days before they took it out on a 28 degree morning before 6am. Why have a heater in there if nobody is allowed to use it in freezing temperatures? If they fixed the bathouse it would have been a nice stay for the most part. But the showers and heaters just rubbed me the wrong way. Along with crows screaming for about 3 hours every morning.
We had such a lovely, cozy stay! The hosts were so attentive and made sure we always had firewood ready. The bathhouse was charming, like stepping into an old Western saloon! Our campsite was roomy, the neighbors were friendly, and everyone made us feel right at home. We also loved the quaint little waterfall trail on the property—it was such a peaceful spot to explore. Can’t recommend this campground enough!
10/10 will be coming back. We were passing through and posted up for the night, was greeted at 2am by the owner who wasn’t sure if we were supposed to be on the campsite. We were honest about passing through, exhausted, needed a place to stay last minute, and he let us stay the evening, so of course we paid for a few more days. The whole place was such a rustic, country vibe; Nice campgrounds with tables and fire pits. We brought a grill. He told us to make sure we got a shower in and took care of ourselves after getting much rest, and this was before we paid for the next nights. He was so loving and friendly. The bath houses were nice and had rustic vibes for showers and such. I’ll include pictures. It’s in the middle of everything, close to Lake Lure, and close to Chimney Rock, and Chimney Village. Highly recommend! Good folk, nice stay !
