We know it's new, but no firepits were seen. No shade/trees. Potties were locked. Electric at each site. Perfect for travelers on I-80 for a overnight stop. About 1/2 mile south of I-80 with 2 nice clean convenience stores. We drove about a mile south into colfax, had a pizza n Mexican restaurants.
This park is very new. It has lots of long pull thru sites that have electricity only, no water or sewer hookups. There is a fire pit and a picnic table at each site. There is water on site as well as a dump station. Besides us and the campsite host, there was only one other camper. There are two fishing lakes and lots of room for walking. Scenery is beautiful. The reason I gave it a 3 is because the price of $40/night without full hookups was a bit high in comparison to other parks with full amenities.
I was traveling across country and I decided to spend the night here. The site is lovely. There is very faint traffic noise due to proximity to the interstate but otherwise nice and peaceful. The park is well maintained and perfect for my one night stay.
We go here ALL the time for fishing, kayaking, and camping since it is close to home. It's very well maintained and never over crowded. Great place to spot wildlife, especially the Ospreys!! We spotted two baby Ospreys on one of the platforms above the water!
Was in town for work and just wanted to find a place to stretch my legs and explore a bit. This was great! The ospreys and their nests were cool, there were large open areas, benches, trails and the water to explore.
