After making dozens of trips to northern Michigan, this was our first stop at Aloha. The park has recently been completely revamped. New playground, new paved campsite pass, electrical services, more full-hookups, and big rig friendly sites. Best of all, it has something you can't build at a campground... Shoreline on a 17,000 acre lake, the third largest inland lake in Michigan, and breathtakingly beautiful sunsets. And the fishing ain't bad either. And yes there is a place to launch your boat! We highly recommend this campground!

This was our first time here. It was the end of the season, October, so not much staff around. We enjoyed the campground. There was a nice walking, biking trail right next to the campground, and a very friendly store right at the entrance. There could be better lighting outside the restrooms (there was only lights inside the restroom) and around the park. We arrived after dark and had to check in with the yellow phone that was behind the check-in booth in the pitch dark, and we had to get out and walk the road with a flashlight to find our lot number.

This park is beautiful with amazing view and access to Mitchell Lake. We were on lot 23 with tents. High damaging winds came through and pretty much leveled us but anytime you camp in tents that could happen.

We stayed for 4 days. It was very hot (Mid August 90°) So much accessible Mullet Lake frontage the length of the park. Snorkeling, boating, small beaches, boat launch, bike path that seemed endless… sites where you can dock your boat at them… nothing I did not like about this State Park. We picked a shady site. Bathrooms were older but well maintained. Limited showers (4 women’s, plus a family shower building for 290 sites) 1/3 of those are full hookup. As far as State Parks go this one was grassy, user friendly, and we already are planning a return trip with our snorkeling gear. Pete the cat liked it as well..

This is a superb campground and Mullet lake is gorgeous! The state park store offers delicious pizza and their donuts are very popular - so popular they have a pre-order system for them! The store also has great ice cream (Michigan pot hole for the win!). The only downsides are biting ants and mayflies (which are harmless just a nuisance). You can get lake-view campsites here, there is a lot of green space for gathering and play. We really loved it more than most other state parks.
