We camped here during the Christmas Holiday. It was 23 degrees over night but the Bathhouse was heated and showers had hot water. They nice and clean. Campsites were great as well. It was a short walk down to the Guadalupe River.
It was a calm, quiet place. We went on winter season (last week of December) and the river was so dry then, and most of the trees were leafless as expected. We had a quiet and peaceful time, explored a few trails which were quite easy, saw some Armadillos. The branches of bald cypress trees are also a good attraction here. The only thing I missed here a bit more vibrance, or a little bit liveliness!
Gorgeous bluffs… We visited this park in March, 2025. The park is well-maintained, and the rangers are nice and helpful. The trail map that we were given is really useful. The river water level in March was good for recreation. Here, we went on a few short hikes. Staring from Bald Cypress trail we took the Cedar Sage trail which led towards the Discovery trail and the beautiful elevated views of Guadalupe River overlook. The trails are scenic and clearly marked. The limestone bluffs lining the Guadalupe River and bald cypress trees on the river bank create a picturesque setting. We spent a very good time in this park.
Visiting the Guadalupe River was truly an amazing experience. The water was beautiful, the scenery was peaceful, and the entire atmosphere felt refreshing and relaxing. From floating on the river to enjoying the views around every corner, everything about it was outstanding. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and unforgettable getaway
Guadalupe River State Park is one of our favorite places to get outdoors. We love hiking the trails — they’re well-marked, scenic, and offer a nice mix of easy and moderate routes through the Hill Country. The views are beautiful, especially along the river, and there’s plenty of shade in most areas. Spending time by the river is the best part. The water is clean, perfect for cooling off or just relaxing by the bank, and there are several good spots for swimming or picnicking. The park is always clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a great place for hiking, relaxing, and soaking up a little Texas nature.
