Washpools Campground

Great campground not far out of scone, a few walking trails nearby, gas BBQ and drop toilet, 2WD access

A very stunning and scenic camping area, a short drive/ride from Scone. It was nice to see it was being well used by numerous campers and yet it was still so quiet.

If you are interested in an off-grid camping trip, next to a beautiful babbling creek, then this is the spot. The drop loos are clean, there are fire pits, gas barbecues, and the grass cover is good. There are however no hot or cold showers. If you are keen, there is a fire trail behind the barbecues that climbs to the top of the ridge and goes on for many kilometres. It also doubles back to the actual Washpools picnic area 500 m up the road. Loved it.

Great location, river and views are pristine, the local Kookaburra and magpies are pretty comfortable taking what you bring to their environment but it's their world we stay in so just be mindful where you leave your food. Very green area, rivers are worth a walk up near the lookout down the stairs 1min drive away. The toilets are super clean and well looked after by the very friendly ranger. Would go again.
