Shady Oaks RV & Mobile Home Park

A true hidden gem! This small family run campground is a wonderful place to stay! Dave, Kari, Kyle, Savannah, and Jared are amazing hosts! The community they have built is warm and welcoming, we stayed for 2 months while my husband was in the area working. I can say we checked in as guests and left as friends! We will definitely stay at Shady Oaks again should hubby's work bring us back to the Cross City area! Thank you all for such a positive experience!!

Nice peaceful campground close to gas, groceries and a small selection of fast food joints. The owners met us on arrival and escorted us to a gorgeous site directly across from the main complex. Unfortunately, the pool was closed for upgrades but it didn't bother us. We had a nice shady spot with full hookups, cable, wifi and a large concrete patio. Definitely a hidden gem. We will be returning in the future. I would watch the weekly pool tournaments in the clubhouse but never played because my skills at the game suck. I met some great people there.

This is an older CG, gated, with mostly seasonal campers. Like many CG’s, the sites for transient campers are toward the front of the park. Helpful staff members were expecting us and guided us patiently to our site, which was likely a back in, but functioned as a pull through since the adjacent site was empty. Adjoining the office is a small pub area with a pool table, so when you first enter the office it smells a little smoky, but the rest of the common areas are smoke free. There was a heavy hours-long downpour during our stay, yet the sandy/grass surface of our site drained well. The laundry area was very clean and reasonably priced. Cable service is included; CG wifi is not intended for streaming; T-Mobile was 2-3 bars during the day, less at night. Verizon was somewhat better, but also not completely dependable.

We stayed here Month of Feb 2023. It is a great place to set up camp. The owners are the best we have ever met. The camp ground area is small, which is nice. The mobile home area is set behind. They have a great little bar with pool tables, darts and shuffle board! The laundry room is also the best we have had in this trip. 5 or 6 washers and 4 large dryers. The only reason I did not rate a 5...is the very nice pool w/ deck was not heated. You would have to be a Polar bear to enter. And the location is a bit too far North for the adventures we like to do. Also.... the Wifi is basically non existent. Being business owners....we rely on Wifi. Other wise...For the minimal price they charge.... it is a fantastic place to stay!

I love it here! Moved in a week before Aug 1, 2021. David and Kari, the owners, along with son, Kyle and DIL Savannah have been the most helpful, kind, caring people! Including Mr. Dave the Maintenance man!! They all go the extra mile to help all the residents of the park. The lots are spacious and landscaped with native plants, flowers and gorgeous old Spanish moss hung oak trees which are a blessing in the Florida sun! The office, game room/ pub and pool are kept clean and there is always something going on for us to take part in. There are food items for purchase and beverages / ice cream and other treats. The guys are always mowing, blowing leaves, hauling trash and leaves etc so it always looks good. This has a beachy relaxed “ 5 O’Clock Somewhere” vibe! Highly recommend for long or short stays!
