Not a bad park however needs a big injection of funds to bring it up to scratch. Cabin we stayed in was ok and clean had to clean the air-conditioning filters as they were thick as carpet and probably never cleaned . We had stayed in a lot of parks prior to this park and unfortunately dosent compare to others we stayed at. Not much for kids to do except ride your bike or swim in the fairly ordinary sized pool. Met a lot of lovely people but unfortunately this will be our last visit here.
We recently stayed at BIG4 Bays Holiday Park on sites 24 and 25. We had booked well in advance and were advised that our site number would only be allocated on the day of arrival, which didn’t leave us with much choice in location. Unfortunately, we were placed on a grass site without a concrete slab, even though neighbouring sites had one, which was a bit disappointing. We were also informed prior to arrival that dogs were not permitted, however during our stay we saw at least five dogs in the park, which was confusing and frustrating given the strict advice we received. The amenities block could have been maintained better. There was quite a bit of dirt and sand across the floors by the evening. The pool area was nice and the kids enjoyed it, although it is on the smaller side, especially during busy periods. WiFi was another issue, as it wasn’t working for most of our stay. This meant the kids had to hotspot from my phone during downtime. The park is also quite close to the main road, and we could hear cars and motorbikes passing, particularly at night. Laundry facilities were available, but at $6 per wash and $6 per dry, it felt quite expensive. Overall, while there were some positives, we didn’t feel the stay represented good value for the cost per night, and unfortunately we would be unlikely to return.
Was a very nice stay ay Bays Holiday Park. I read mixed reviews but it really was a pleasant stay. Facilities are in reasonable condition and there was plenty of them. Well appointed park. Lots of activities for kids. Friendly and helpful staff. We even moved our arrival date by two days and it was no hassle at all.
We stayed here recently and overall the experience was mixed, with significant issues around booking and site allocation. Before booking, I had called to enquire if they could accommodate sites for our group of families, grandparents - some in tents and some in cabins. They confirmed yes, gave instructions to put a name in comments section and everyone proceeded to book their own site accordingly. Four days before arrival, when I contacted to confirm if our tent sites were located close together and the final family to make a booking, the park said they had only just realised we were a group booking, despite all bookings quoting my name in the comments as instructed. They then said they don’t accept group bookings at this time of year. And refused to accept the final family - even though there was availability advertised online. This led to unnecessary stress right before our holiday. Two days before arrival, they reversed their position and allowed our final family to attend, which we appreciated - however, even on check-in our not all our camp sites were located close together, despite being told this was the reason for booking as a group. The camping sites themselves were powered but not ideal for tents, located along a dusty gravel road. This meant dirt and dust constantly through the tent, and it wasn’t great for young kids riding scooters. We were also placed near a dump bin, which affected the overall feel of the site. Facilities were mixed. Bathrooms were okay and clean enough. The pool area looks nice but is quite small for the size of the park, so we often headed out during the day. The kids did enjoy the jumping pillow, volleyball court and soccer field. There were guests checking in and out throughout our stay, so it was surprising that accommodating our group and placing us closer together was such a challenge. Not a terrible stay, but not the relaxing family camping experience we had hoped for.
We had a mixed experience of this Holiday Park. The Highlight would be the pool area with the slide and the jumping pillow for sure! The children had a great time with these facilities. The room we stayed in was very nice, it included a spa bath. However, most of the cabin had carpet running through it which was evidently quite dusty and has not had a proper clean in a long time. After a couple days the floors/carpet became quite dirty due to having two toddlers with us. There was a broom provided in the room to sweep, however this wasn’t sufficient to clean the carpet. We asked reception for a vacuum to use and they advised they are unable to provide us with one, however would ‘try’ get a cleaner to come and do it for us. This did not happen and led us to leaving 2 nights early. The wifi/internet reception is not good. We could barely make calls with our phones and the tvs are old school and small. This is not a necessity to have, however would have been nice to use applications like Netflix at night time to wind down with the kids. Another thing to note the park is located off a main road with no walking tracks around. You need to drive approximately 8mins to reach some local shops. Again this is not a necessity but we do enjoy going for walks on holidays and thought it would be good to note for families who do enjoy going for walks. You are able to walk around the camping ground, however not pram friendly due to rocky road/grass. Overall we still enjoyed our stay.
