Awesome. Stayed 7/29. Great value. Quiet. The ranger was super friendly and helpful. The grounds were meticulous. Lots of things to do. Great walking trails. Loved it. Iowa is blessed to have such an amazing place.
We pulled in at 11pm and left by 9am, campground was flat, easy pull thru spots, nice playground and immaculate bathroom facilities! Would recommend for longer stay or just a stop over. My only issue was that the moment we pulled in they were at our campsite asking for money (when we called they said to park and set up and come pay them) it was pouring and I was just trying to level the camper so the kids could get out of the rain and car, but had to stop and write a check!
Love it!! This campground along with West lake gate 5 is maintained by Scott County. Not the City of Davenport.
Summit Campground is part of West Lake Park. It is run by the city of Davenport Iowa. There are a large number of sites available on a first come, first serve basis. The sites in the Summit section have water and electric hook-ups. There is a dump station in the campground. There is another campground in the park that has full hook-ups. There is no wifi or cable service. Verizon coverage is usable, but not very strong. AT&T coverage is adequate for any use. The park is well laid out, and well maintained! There is a campground host on site for questions and assistance. There are two playgrounds in the Summit area for children. It is not far off I-280 and easy to find. In 2020, the daily rate for the campground was $22 per night.
Very nice, clean, reasonably priced campground. First come, first served policy makes this a great get away through the week.
