Saw great reviews so booked for 3 nights but we were very disappointed. Park in a great location and if you have kids lots of things for them. We are an older couple in our early 60's and the first thing we noticed there was no sullage points so everyone let their grey water run on the ground which is not the done thing for the environment. Next issue there are no bins around the park. My husband walked around looking for bins only to find them in the end near reception but they were all locked. Presume you had to get a key from reception to open them. That wasn't happening at 7:00pm but all cabins were allocated bins so we just went to cabins that were empty to get rid of our rubbish. Didn't find the amenities very clean. I went to the showers one morning and there was talcum powder all over the floor which was fine but it was still there later the next day. The whole block needed a really good clean. We checked out the camp kitchen and not sure when that was last cleaned by the looks of it not in quite a while. Would like to have known about the school camps before booking. Our second day there was extremely hot but the pool was being used all day by the school kids on camp. They had groups going in and out all day for activities. Not very restful trying to have a nice swim to cool off with 20 or so teenage girls in the pool. Would not recommend this park for grey nomads.
We stayed here for 2 days with kids, friends and family and had a great time. The campsite is large and spacious, and the location next to both the beach and lake is perfect for families. The kids loved swimming and exploring, and the amenities were clean and well maintained. It felt safe and very family-friendly. On our second visit, we were informed that group bookings can’t use one membership for discounts across multiple sites. Although they allowed it this time, we were advised it won’t be permitted in the future. This makes it difficult for our group, especially for members who don’t speak English or book online. We were hoping to book monthly or every second month, so this is disappointing for us. Overall, it’s still a beautiful spot, but we may need to look for places that better accommodate group bookings next time.
We had a great stay at Holiday Haven Lake Tabourie, starting with a fast and efficient check in by the lovely staff. The campsites are large and well priced, though finding your spot can be a bit confusing with the grass paths. The park has a fantastic large pool, an amazing nearby beach, and a fun mini BMX track that the kids loved. However, the amenities need improvement; while cleaned early, they are messy by midday. Most shower heads spray poorly and need replacing, and the toilets often had a mess on the seats, adding standing urinals for the kids in a future renovation would be a huge help. It’s a lovely park overall, just keep in mind that the on site mini mart is quite pricey.
Disappointing that the disabled toilet blockage was not fixed within a timely manner and no toilet paper in the parents bathroom. At this time of year more needs to be done to provide the service customers are paying for. Very good location and excellent customer service from reception.
Great place to stay! So close to a beach, lagoon to swim and kayak in. Fishing too. I saw whales from the lookout and the next day from beach. Beach cabin was lovely. Plenty of space, comfy bed.
