Great grounds with large sites, many on water, some with little beaches, fire rings with grills provided, super nice staff, clean facilities, great birding and animal watching. Dogs welcome but beware there may be gators that show up so don't leave them unattended. Very quiet but it was partially empty due to coming weather. Bridge to island closed so we had to kayak there. Definitely need a small craft and bicycle to really enjoy all this grounds has to offer. Animals observed: dolphin, otter, racoon Birds observed: brown pelican, white pelican, Osprey, cattle regret, juvenile and adult snowy egret, night heron, great blue heron, crow, crackle, palm wabler, ibis, red bellied woodpecker, tricolor heron, ringbilled gull, common tern, black vulture, laughing gull, killdear, loggerhead shrike (butcher bird), white heron, belted Kingfisher, cormorant, mourning dove, starling, anhinga, and unidentified duck
This park really looked nice. We had to go home early because the bad weather caused the power to go out. My wife has some medical problems and she cannot take cold temperatures. The park was kind enough to refund our last day. I am sure we will go back after the weather warms up.
Beautiful campground. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms with hot showers. Close to the beach and nice parks. Best part is kayak launch to see dolphins. Highly recommend!
Exposed my grandsons to where I camped as young boys. My mother brought me and my siblings here since 1967. Very different now but still holds those fun loving times we share with our families. Beautiful campground. My daughter takes the grandsons camping often and I get to go too
We camped for three days last weekend had a great time. Night time there were a bunch of kids playing. The fishing was good we brought our boat and went out island hopping the only complaint I have is that their boat ramp was out of service and it wasn’t mentioned on the website. All in all it’s a great place for families or anyone wanting a peaceful weekend camping.
