Beautiful location nestled in the wilderness and farmlands of rural Alberta. - a lovely drive a mere 100 km due west of Wetaskawin This is a well manicured and maintained golf course with very good greens. The course is relatively flat but has a challenging layout for all levels of golfers. There are no sand traps but beware of going off the fairway as the tall grass on the edges devours golf balls, never to be seen again. The day I was there (a Tuesday afternoon in September) we had the golf course to ourselves making for a very relaxed and enjoyable 18 holes of golf. The owners ran a wonderful restaurant and lodgings for many years before they were the victims of an arson that destroyed their building resulting in a major blow to their livelihood. The Covid years were a devastating blow as well. I highly recommend this course and hope that golfers will make the trip to support this gem of a golf course.
Was welcomed at door, hadn't golfer in years, was told about specials,on drinks and fees,. Booked 18 holes, and cart, had a blast, course was a little rough but tons of rain this summer so to be expected, after nine, hot dogs and smokes ready, reloaded refreshments, and completed back nine, was very warm,so glad we rented cart. Thanks for the great experience.
We played in July of 2025. First all reviews about the great food are not applicable as the restaurant burned down two years ago. The mess from the fire is still there and is not a welcoming sight when you pull into the parking lot. When we were there the grass everywhere (fairways, tee boxes and greens) was very long and fairways are overrun with clover. When they cut the fairways there is excessive clippings laying on top of the grass making the fairways even poorer. All the bridges are rotted out with several having holes through them. I didn't feel safe walking across them never mind driving a power cart over them.Number 10 red tee box is unusable due to the heavy layers of Goose droppings all over it. The hole signs are actually very nice as they showed a good map of each hole but also you could clearly see the next sign from the green you were putting on. Campground sufficed as our unit fit and we were the only people there so it was very quiet. Also there is no website so information is hard to come by unlesss you actually phone the clubhouse during operating hours.
It's a nice course, well maintained and cut, and it's fair priced. Full 18 course that's a bit repetitive and easy but some holes can be challenging especially if there's wind. Sadly no bunkers to be seen. I really like playing this course, I have played 3 or 4 times this year, I really should have gotten a membership but maybe next year. Worth the drive from Rocky. It's not a difficult course but it is well maintained which is great for practicing and improving your skills. The staff are friendly as well.
Great little restaurant at the golf club. Filled our bellies with with the special (bacon cheeseburger, fries and mushroom soup) and the chicken fingers with house salad. Food was good and what you'd expect and the service was excellent. Glad we took the time to stop on our way out camping.
