We found this place on a whim. As we came down to Salem, we caught this campground at the end of season as they were closing everything up right before we left very good campground close to Salem. Nice guy who runs the place. His name was Alan pretty spread out space. We were able to grab up front which I have to say we were pleasantly surprised on the amount of space we had. If you can get the first campground spot when you pull into the right, it is very roomy. The bathrooms were a little rugged. If I must say the least one, there was spiders everywhere. 2, there was bugs everywhere 3. The trash wasn't really taken out in the bathroom. You have to pay with quarters for the shower. And my wife got out of the shower same time. I did, and said, honey look, so I walked into the woman's bathroom with my wife, and she saw a little mouse swimming in the toilet. She said she was glad she didn't have to use the restroom. This time All in all 4 star campground ..... We were there during the nor Easter. So there was 3 days of steady rain. We finally saw sunshine on the way out. Thanks again Alan for allowing us to pick between two different sites.
This has become one of our favorite campgrounds. We typically visit in October, when it is a bit quieter. Clean facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Sites are plenty spacious for our large pop up camper. Short drive to the beach or to Gloucester. Everything you need for a great camping experience and thankfully none of the glitz of resort campgrounds.
Great campground. Nice size sites. Quiet. Nice market half mile away. Really hot water for showers and 5 minutes for 25 cents was enough time. ended up turning off water. Would give 5 stars if it was easier to pull into dump stations.
The office staff was very helpful and kind. Everyone we encountered was friendly and enjoyed the area. The seasonal campers were very helpful and welcoming. I can't say enough about this place and we plan to make this place a future destination. So peaceful, friendly and clean! Thank you Cape Ann Campsite for a great experience!
Staff is very friendly. We lucked out and got a great campsite away from other people but most of the sites seems very close to others especially rv sites. But pretty standard. Price per night is good. I only needed 1 night but had to pay for 2. I didn't mind since hotels in the area were over 3x as much. My campsite was great but I know I would not have liked the ones with people so close or the ones by the road. There was a raccoon family that came to our campsite all night but we were eating and there were no other sites with people near us so it makes sense. Named her Marlene. The security guy is super nice and seems like the whole site is well maintained. The bathrooms are good too for a campsite. be prepared for the parking at the beaches nearby. It's 45 dollars to park and the spots go fast.
