Location a little difficult to navigate (maybe signage would help). Staff were friendly & helpful in the office. We are used to more customer interaction by the Camp Hosts in the campground. Campsite had marginal safety issues.
More to previous review. Let me start by saying we’ve been coming here for years, even after new owners bought it. It’s crazy because before we never called or told anyone we needed 3 or 4 campsites we just rented them online no one ever said a word we’ve never been asked to leave etc. we had family in town and my daughter wanted to camp for her birthday we had 4 families and 12 kids 7 adults. We wanted to rent 4 campsites. And a cabin for my elderly mom. They denied us and said they do not allow party’s. Mind it was not a party. We were told they don’t allow campers to gather at camp sites and don’t allow big party’s. I calmly advised it’s not a big party we are all renting and sleeping at our own camp sites. So if you and your family want to camp here make sure you go with just your family don’t ask friends to camp too , they said we can rent the pavilion . We know several people that go in campers have 5 kids their whole family goes with them 12+ people in a couple different campers and no one says a thing to them Mind you we weren’t having a party cake and ice cream nothing like that. also don’t have more then 4 kids cause they don’t allow you to come camping there if you have more then 4 kids. My sister in law called to rent a campsite for her family the following weekend she has 7 kids and her. she was also denied a campsite because she had to many kids they don’t allow party’s. 😳
Went here from the recommendation of a co workers. And man I am sad I didn’t come here sooner. So clean and calm. The kids loved it and just had so much fun. Will be back pretty frequently. Super close to the city with out the long drive and traffic trying to go to the lake
This was an amazing family weekend! Super friendly people and you can tell they are putting a lot of money back into this place. They did a phenomenal job on the Mother's Day brunch. We are going to book for Father's day weekend for sure! My kids had a blast. Level site, full hookup #4 (but a bit steep gravel, avoid if you have to be careful walking). UPDATE: SITE #45 stayed again, this site is right across from a great fishing spot, well shaded, but bring three black tank hoses, the sewer hookup is in the wrong spot
This place is really nice and it kind of reminded me of Kellerman's Mountain House (the resort in Dirty Dancing). We stayed in one of the waterfront sites. The concrete pad was nice and level but there was a bit of a drop off from the pad to the picnic/campfire area. Our site was great, but some of the sites are a little rough looking. That being said, you can tell the owners are putting a lot into restoring this old resort. The bathrooms were nice and clean with real plumbed toilets, not a toilet seat over a pit. The general store has some fun stuff and basic necessities you may have forgotten. We didn't use the pool but it looked very nice. Even though there were a lot of campers in our area, it was quiet and peaceful.
