Stayed here for the first time been to whiteshell multiple times but always stayed else where, this year there was only availability at Opapiskaw, went with family for our yearly camping trips, loved the camping spots. But however, the lady that was working the office came off very rude, she made my cousin pay more $$, yet I had already booked both our camping spots online previously, I paid over $108 for 3 night for 2 camping spots yet she was charged more $$!!! Every morning the worker would drive by our camping spot and ask us questions but did not do it to the other campers, also would drive past our campsite about 10 or 11 at night. Never ever had this problem at other campsites before, loved the campsites but will not be returning to Opapiskaw campsite. Not sure if it was a racial thing or if she was just really moody.
We used a group site. Truly very uncomfortable. The parking is far away. Need to go back and forth to bring everything and to put it back. The group site itself is smallish. Part of the site has a slope, so it's very uncomfortable for tents. The campground itself has no signage of what is where. I arrived around 8 pm, the office was closed, the map was unclear, and very small. There were no printed maps of the campground to take. The place itself is clean, pretty well kept. The washrooms and showers were clean and in very decent condition. A bit more signage and better parking arrangements for the group site might be a great improvement for this campground.
Love it out there, good for fishing, kayaking and tubing to name a few, we go out there almost every weekend in the summer, I am grateful to have a place we can go and relax with family and friend's ❤️
Nice little campground. I would give it 3.5 stars but Google reviews doesn't allow for that. The scenery is beautiful! Be careful choosing your site as there are a lot of very open spots. Showers were good as well as bathrooms. The site was a bit messy when we arrived.
An amazing campground, small but better in the sense nothing is very far. Two beaches, both with great sand and lots of space. Washrooms were clean, and showers were as well. Lots of fishing spots and a dock for boats, fish filleting station well away from the campsites. As others mentioned, some sites are small and more of a grassy area beside the road but there are plenty of beautiful sites. Check pictures first to be sure you get a site that works for you.
