It's almost as if they're running a test to see how long it takes for the whole place to crumble, every year getting progressively worse. It has a volleyball court full of sticker patches, some old rotting wooden benches at that Court, a playground, but you definitely can't let your kids go barefoot in the sand. The little store was no longer open. The men's restroom light fixtures were dangling from the ceiling and of course no light, in terms of cleanliness in the bathrooms you might just want to bring your own cleaners. Burned-out bulbs on the " cabins " had to get rid of some wasps inside the cabins. Pavilion building leaking water from the roof when it rained. The only thing the place has going for it is price.
This was the worst RV park experience we have ever had. The only positives were the price ($15) and the friendly, helpful lady from the Winters city hall who took our reservation. There is nobody on staff at the park to help out. Many of the sites were not numbered so we had a hard time finding our assigned site. The electric box was on the correct (driver's) side of the site but the water was in the back on the passenger side. We didn't have a long enough hose so we spent the night without water. (We fortunately always carry bottled water for drinking.) The bathrooms were filthy! The whole place in general is "tired" and in need of major repairs and updates. Even the sign from the road that tells you where to turn in to enter the park was faded to the point that it is unreadable. (I witnessed another person who, like us, missed the correct driveway and had to back up.)
Great city park with electric and water at the site. $15 a night. Friendly staff and a great view of the lake. It was not busy except for the weekend. Even then it was not noisy. I would stay here again
This was a really nice camp ground clean bathrooms plenty of space and super dog friendly
What a hidden gem! Our spot was on the water, what a beautiful way to wake up. Granted it was 30⁰ out. Still, so quiet, peaceful and secluded. Definitely stay here if you can. Minimal hookups but maximum beauty in the heart of Texas!
